T-Wolves Official thread

He's played real well lately, i don't think he's the answer though. He's a guy that should be coming off the bench. On a sidenote I would like for the T-Wolves to walk away with a PG or Thabeet on draft day.

True he may not be the answer but that doesn't mean to grow into that. I don't think they take thabeet because they'll have al jefferson back and they traded for kevin love last year.

I don't we'll pick high enough to get Thabeet. His skill set is exactly what we need. A big defensive center that won't take shots away from Jefferson, it would also allow Jefferson to move back to the 4. The Wolves desperately need a Guard too.

Yea Thabeet would be a good player for them because as you said jefferson moves back to the 4 and that's where he is more comfortable. I think they might need another scoring guard just to take pressure off of Jefferson on the offensive end.

I love for them to get Harden out of Arizona State. I also heard that Ricky Rubio's may get lowered and might be enter the draft. It would be nice for the Wolves to use their other 1st round picks and trade up. If we end up with Harden, Rubio, or Thabeet on draft day then i'll be happy.

Hat i know you're a pretty big Wolves fan, who would you take in the draft if Rubio and Griffin are gone?

alright, wasn't sure if you drafted him and anticipated on him being a PG. How effective do you think Brandon Jennings will be in the NBA?

That's a tough one to evaluate. High school and Europe aren't the best places to gather evidence on a point guard's ability to play in the NBA. I will say this, I respect Tim Floyd's ability to evaluate talent as much as just about anyone in the game and he thinks Jennings is a great prospect. His size would concern me.

There's quite a few prospects that the Wolves could take with their pick, how about Willie Warren? Getting a PG has to be the Wolves top priority. Also is Rubio for sure entering the draft? I'm seeing his name popping up more in mock drafts.

I think people are still trying to untangle Rubio's contract in Europe to see if the buyout is prohibitive. I don't think Warren is a pure point guard. He's a combo type.

It looks like Taylor will just promote someone from within the organization instead of going with an outside hire got GM. Sam Mitchell is still out there. Hat how good of a GM would he make?

I think Sam's more of a coach than a GM. He's a little high strung for a GM. Fred Hoiberg would be a good choice for GM. If you're looking outside, Mark Jackson would be my first choice.

It looks like Tom Penn is our man. Hat how do you think he'll do? I personally like the move.

Penn is a brilliant cap manipulator and has worked under Jerry West and Kevin Pritchard, two of the best. As long as the Wolves have someone like Hoiberg on hand to help in the nuts and bolts talent evaluation, Penn should do well.

I'm just worried that Taylor will try to have too much control over everything. If Penn gets full control, how long until the Wolves are competiting for the playoffs again?

That's hard to say. If Jefferson comes back 100%, they're alright up front. However, that backcourt needs some serious work.

Yeah it does, apparently though, Harden seems to be the T-Wolves man right now. If you look back on McHale's GM career he was nothing short of abysmal. We have too many tweeners. Maybe the Wolves will get lucky and win the lottery and pick Rubio.

A lineup of
PG. Rubio
SG. Foye
SF. Miller?
PF. Love
C. Jefferson

doesn't seem too bad.

That group has some serious defensive deficiencies.

it'll definately take some time. Foye's role will eventually be a 6th man. They need to find a defensive center that will compliment Jefferson. Also hoping Brewer will come back healthy and become a great defensive player. Gomes is also very underrated and will start next year.
