I was thinking we use opening weekend numbers to gauge excitement and settle this quicker.

You just said the "box office will prove it" yet when called to back it up, you now indicate it will make a lot of money because people are stupid and will go see it.

Yep my hypocrisy knows no bounds. You got me. Maybe it will maybe it won't perform well, I don't really know or care. Either way I think the trailers and tv spots for it are putting a large SJW vibe out with it.

I would say those who keep trying to prove an opinion wrong are insecure. Why does my opinion mean so much to anyone? Why is proving me wrong more important than presenting your own ideas? I think you have helped prove my point, but I'm gonna go ahead and guess you would disagree. Shocking.

When you post your opinion on a message board you're opening yourself up for debate. If for some reason the movie isn't a success, it won't be because of a female lead.

I didn't say it was because of a female lead. Female leads are great. I think the idea that all women are being constantly oppressed by men is unhealthy and inaccurate.

Why does it mean so much to you that you be able to proclaim it and then not have it challenged at all? If that's not insecurity, I don't know what is.

Not to mention, you posted a prediction, not an opinion, about how the movie will do financially. Since you've been challenged on that, you've danced back like Michael freaking Jackson and have gone to the tried and true passive-aggressive "I'm not [insert negative adjective], YOU'RE [insert negative adjective]".

I asked for a number that we could go by to prove what that person would consider a successful opening weekend. He provided that number and it sounded reasonable enough to be a number to go by. So now it will be higher or lower based on the market and its now a matter of waiting for the numbers. Thank you for your input though it has been quite helpful.
