I’m excited for the beginning of Appalachian League. Went to a ton of games last year and saw some great ball and really good players (including some Vols).

This used to be my thing, gonna be interesting to see how many guys we get in The Cape. Sadly, doesn’t seem like staff feels The ABL is the right spot. I always liked the late night games. Obviously, I hope the Owls kick that A$$, way, way too early, just getting started.

CDS obviously liked Alaska since he sent his own son there to play, but you are right, things change.

Y’all need to check out the Forest City Vols Owls this summer. The team usually has a bunch of current Tennessee Vols and several Knoxville and East Tennessee area players. It’s just a hop and a skip away from Knoxville, great baseball, fun family atmosphere and really good food. And best of all, one of the nicest guys and fellow Volnation poster is the owner. Our very own @@1RBFjr .

FINALLY, MAY IS HERE — and that means OWLS BASEBALL is BACK!
The countdown is ON:
• 14 days ‘til our legendary interns report
• 20 days ‘til the Owls arrive
• 25 days ‘til our first intra-squad showdown

Pulaski VA... River Turtles. Calfee Park I believe is oldest in Appy League opened in 1935 I think. It's the 9th oldest minor league park in United States. Used to be Braves in the 90s with David Justice and many others. Was also Yankees recently. Terrific ballpark.

Thanks, @MAD . Should have lots of orange in Forest City this summer- three Vols (waiting on one to get paperwork in), and our new GM is a Tennessee graduate. Zane Denton contacted me, and his brother Myles is coming (Myles is playing juco presently). And, to clarify, I have a business partner who is incredible and deserves far more credit than I do. Probably most important is that our spouses are along for the ride and tolerate lots of baseball.

Got to catch a game in Kingsport last summer when the Axmen played the JC Doughboys. Great evening at the park!

Is he Benson’s boy?

Benson and my younger brother were teammates at FHS, before my brother went to work and Benson went to college and won a title with Fulmer’s ‘98 squad as a pk holder. Think Benson went on to med school.
