Suck it up fair weather fans

i grew up in Tennessee... lived there for 22 years. All of my friends are Vol fans... I watched countless Vol games with them. I listened to them talk and talk about UT, and they listened to me talk about ND. I am a fan of the game... I follow more ongoings than just ND... otherwise, I wouldnt be on this board. I know that winning the SEC is important to Vol fans... or any fan of a conference team, but i believe that if UT began having success in the SEC but missed out on NT year after year, people would begin to get restless. ND fans are restless after this year, viewing at as a disappointment b/c we blew our 2 biggest games... failing to realize that we came from a 5-7 and 6-6 season. higher success demands higher expectations, and if these expectations are not met, people will become upset... just my experience.

People would be upset, but no one is going to call for Fulmer's head the year after he wins the SEC.

well, from this fan, the SEC title is the most important thing. after that, it's all gravy.

the SEC East and then the SEC title...the only two things we can control our own destiny on. do that and you are in a BCS game and you control your own destiny there as well. lack of national championships wouldn't bother me in the least if we put ourselves in the best possible position to be part of that discussion.

which as always means you have to win the conf. first. plain and simple.

Quit the crying over the loss. No ones going to get fired. I don't know how some of you guys can consider yourself fans always putting your team and coaching staff down. We have a lot to built on in 2007

Sir I am a die-hard Vols fan, and your probably correct in saying Fulmer will not be fired, however I wish he would, I'm sure he's a great guy but he just isn't getting the job done.

Randy "Fall Guy" Sanders was a great guy too.

lol. quit lying guys. if you won an SEC title and then tanked in the NC game, you would be so bummed. I don't believe for one second that you would be so elated with winning an SEC trophy that you would completely disregard the NC game.
I never said that I wouldn't care about the title game, but I wouldn't be calling for TCHFCATUTK's job after an SEC title, even if we lost the game.

yeah, notre dame hasn't won a bowl game or a NT in a long time... and i have been just as faithful through all the years... i don't understand how ND's lack of football success has anything to do with the disucssion. now, let's try to stay on point.
So you believe that it was the wrong thing to replace Willingham with Weiss?

Is anybody watching the Louisville/Wake game. Man..they have some talent. Poor/average recruiting is showing up big time in K-town! If Fulmer goes 9-4 next year...he is gone!

I belive fans here have every right to complain. why settle for medicority.. there is no way you could convince me that penn state is better or has more talent than the vols. do I blame the loss entirely on the coach of course not. the simple fact is the entire team played poorly. in the business world being average is unacceptable. you cant blame management if the employes fail to perform.. however you can bet the owner of said company would certianly hold management accountable if they didnt do something about it. as for being fair weatherd.. I live in ND country I could just as easily say I wasnt a vol fan at all and sing the praises of wiess just like every other idiot around here. I wasnt happy after the florida loss but never said anything about fulmer.. I still thought we could win the sec.. after the lsu loss still didnt say anything about coaching.. was a little more upset after the arkansas loss but at least that was to a top 25 team. losing to an unranked team team is just a little more than most fans can take though. At least for me it wasnt just losing.. If the team played its best and just came up short that would be one thing.. but to play the way they did was just too much though..
