Strong Source: Fulmer is Gone

If Phil is getting the boot soon....he will go kicking, as he has his eyes set on surpassing Neyland and attending the renaming ceremony from Neyland to Fulmer Stadium......oh he is soooo close.

I need to call my good friend Jimbo Sexton tonight....and sort through all this carp. I will let you all know the real deal.

Fulmer has said that he is a loyal person and loyalty is number 1 in his book. I don't see this being a simple, "thank you for all the years you have been in coaching, now don't let the door hit you on the butt on the way out", deal. He will go screaming and kicking into the night. Wait and See.

On the way out of the Georgia game, actually had some random Dawg fan put his hand on my shoulder and say, "What y'all gonna do about Phil? I'm not harassing you, man, I'm serious. What are you gonna do?"
He was a little wobbly on his feet but he had no doubt that a deal to get Cutcliffe back would be the best thing. It's amazing, but everybody here in the ATL is very interested in our situation. Once again, UT football is on the map. Woo hoo!

please no Cutcliffe

OrangeEmpire...aka "OE"..

Remarkably similar to the "not seen since '06" OrangeSquare..both in name and type of posts.

You owe me a six-pack. You lost, fair and square. Pay up.

No...never mind...if you were a man, you would have already paid up.

Welcome to the ignore list.

go vols.

OE doesn't like Fulmer. End of similarities.

Oh, no. I think that's a great idea. In fact, they should just name some of the concessions themselves after him. (e.g., "Yeah, I'd like two Fulmer Burgers and a large Coke.")

They could also have Phoney Baloney sandwiches named for the fans who perpetuate these type of threads

If it takes UT just short of a millenium to make a coaching change, I would hope more homework would be done before a Tubberville or any person with the last name of Bowden would be hired. Plus, if we go to all this trouble to hopefully get a few more miles off of a 90's retread like a Spurrier, then the boosters need to really question what they are doing as an influence to the program. I don't think you have to hire a coach that teaches an innovative offense, just a solid coach that gets the max from their players and can tickle the fancy off of High School Coaches and parents across the U.S. If they have a superbowl ring on their finger or a prom king smile, I don't care. I just want a solid team on the field and a program I can feel good about at the end of the season and the future ahead.

Isn't the reason we are pushing Fulmer out is that he can't win an SEC title anymore....what makes Tommy Bowden more appealing? He can't get it done in a basketball Conference? I'd rather have Butch Davis or Muschamp than Tommy. Spurrier still dream hire!!!

Spurrier is a bad choice IMO. I know all about what he did at Duke, but he survived on talent in Florida, one thing he doesn't have a surplus of at USC. He's washed-up.

Fulmer for the good of the university should retire and go out with dignity for himself and the program. I have followed Tennessee football for more years than I care to share with you and when the times comes for them to leave they should leave, no more headlines, no more bad feelings, no more trash talk years later....He should either retire and go home or retire from HC and go to work for the university raising money. Look at Pat Dye. He is still there and raising a lot of money for the university.....I hate to use Auburn as an example considering the mess they are in now, but that transfer did help all concerned.
