I think early on they did more things like X-men 134 and the fact that Hawkins is in Roane county made it more fun to find all the Easter eggs the D brothers placed in each episode. That made it fun. The ties with ORNL and things like the Philadelphia Experiment was fun. Then as the show went on they did a little less of this as it went on. Overall it was a fun watch for me and my wife and gave us something to discuss. I’ve seen much worse.it was solidly okay. overwrought in places and rushed in others. of course the Will thing was shoehorned in but we all knew it was coming so whatever. It definitely had a few entertaining moments when they were broken off on their side quests. to me thats always when the show shined.
I really liked the finale and the wrap up.
2 very small gripes though:
1) The final battle definitely felt rushed.
2) Super small gripe on this one… but man that “roof scene” at the end with the older cast catching up was so awkward lol. I’ve never seen that particular group have such little chemistry.
Yeah, I've had some of those experiences, as well. And I have other friends (including one in this thread) that are always as comfortable as 8th grade, no matter how much time has passed. The last scene I kind found pretty realistic, and while I don't know if it was supposed to feel awkward I kinda get it. I've caught up with friends I was close to younger but when we caught up when we were older it wasn't the same. And the "We'll meet up once a month", like yeah that's never going to happen.
Maybe it shouldn't have seemed that way because it hadn't been THAT long ago but I still got it.
