Offense under Coach Jake
YPG 2013- 353YPG
YPG 2014- 370YPG

PPG 2013- 24 PPG
PPG 2014- 29 PPG

Record in 2013: 5-7
Record in 2014: 7-6

Overall: 12-13

Coach DeBord's last two years as a coordinator
YPG 2006- 371YPG
YPG 2007- 386YPG

PPG 2006- 29 PPG
PPG 2007- 27 PPG

Record in 2006: 11-2
Record in 2007: 9-4

Overall: 20-6

Guys offensively speaking the numbers look pretty comparable, and back in 06 & 07 offenses weren't as dynamic as they are today. Even still DeBord's offenses are right on par with ours the last 2 years! I'm not saying I think he's the best hire I'm saying that he can be a quality OC for us just as Bajakian was. The record is obviously due to attrition for our program, but DeBord's record speaks for itself. Who even knows too how much control Lloyd Carr had at that time as well! All I'm saying guys is that this is tangible proof that you should not judge a hire until it plays out. If it completely fails then be outraged, but until that time give DeBord a chance to work. And who knows he may be a CO-OC with Azzanni, which I think would be a very smart play by Jones. Let this play out guys, and stop rambling on about the same things over and over. Give this a chance!

you had to go back 6-8 years to get stats. Id rather had kept Bajokeian at least he has called a play in the last 6-8 years.

OP went back to his last year as an OC. DeBord spent 2008-2012 in the NFL.

Was keeping Baj an option??

Isnt pointless spewing part of the message board experience? I love when people come on a forum created for fans to exchange opinions, and tell them to withhold opinions.

First everyone did not like the Butch Jones hire, then it was the offensive play, defensive scheme blah, blah, blah. We win the TS Bowl, We get two, I said TWO top 5 recruiting classes, and now, the same people want to ramble on about this hire.......what a bunch of goof balls. Sorry Freak, I tried really hard not to go after these idiots, but I can't stand people that ALL they do is ***** and moan......let the guy coach and then come at him.

CBJ is going to enjoy watching all these NEGAVOLS eat their words.

GO VOLS!!

Expressing opinions and public lynchings are 2 different things entirely. Just sayin'.

Well it's wrong to say a hire is bad until at least we have played some games!! I mean sh** give it a chance before you just shoot it down!! It's ok to have an opinion about something... But something that has even yet to transpire??? It's a bad hire when we have a bad season! That's when opinions should be valid!!

I just don't see why people care what one thinks of the hire. Also, have you ever voted for a guy and lamented his opponent winning? Would you wait 4-8 years to have an opinion on the election? This thinking that expressing respectful dissent makes one a hater, nega vol, or a participant in a "public lynching" is what is wrong with culture. People are free to have a dissenting opinion yet be FOR the same thing as others. We all have the same desire here, but different opinions of how to do it. At the end of the day, we are fans and this is a message board. Lets dialogue and quit throwing out rhetoric when there is disagreement. I think its a bad hire but I also think it could work. I am a fan with an opinion, and I don't need to wait a year to form an opinion.

Ok ok.. Sorry I'm just indifferent about the hire. I'm just waiting until I know for sure and that's after the season.

All I am hearing on these post are negative remarks about Debord being a pro-style guy and a non-productive.

Debord's offense was always productive as OC and any good OC can adapt or change thier offensive stlye. Does Cutcliffe's offense at Duke look the same as when we had Peyton or Tee. No!! Can he still call productive plays?? Does his schemes have some spread concepts?

My Guess is He will work closely with Coach A and the other offenseive assistiants regardless of what title's change to help expand the offense. A huge part of the OC is job is execution. Can we execute effectively. I can call a read option to Hurd but can we execute the blocking schemes to be successful on each play is Huge. I believe Debord will bring that. I could care less if he is boring or looks or runs his mouth like Lane Kiffin. Just Win.

Maybe not my first choice but the guy knows offense
