So, who are the non-UT leaders to bring UT success?
OK, professor, "...give some of us a lesson." You state your opinions like they're absolute, behind the scenes facts in stone. How the hell are you so privy to such, pray tell? Seriously, please share with us your unquestionable source(s). We are all ears....
I'm just going to keep posting this article until everyone stops throwing the bammer's BS story onto Phil.
Judge's book goes behind the scenes of Cottrell case | AL.com
"While Cottrell attorney Tommy Gallion painted University of Tennessee boosters and former Vols coach Phillip Fulmer as grand conspirators in a plan to take down Alabama, Wilson notes that it was another SEC rival that alerted the NCAA about Means' recruitment."
FWIW, Wilson is a Bama alum.
Oh look, another name on the screen throwing out insults instead of a shred of intelligent conversation.
Glad I made enough of an impression on you to waste your time posting that meme.
Maybe you'll actually retain some knowledge one of these days.
Forgot about 01.... and I was there. Lol.
I think 01-04 he was good. I had no issues with him remaining HC.
After that it got dicey quick
No question.
Looking back, I wish he was gone after 2005. Not super realistic with a new AD (that Phil helped hire) and conservative boosters/fans, but it would have been better in the long run. Bringing him back after 2008 would have been malpractice.
oh, i remember the threads back then. it was brutal. in 05, i was actually fine with keeping him. it was his first bad season in 13 years. i didn't think he was doing a good job, but i did think he had done plenty to earn the chance to fix it.
he didn't. and the worst thing that probably happened, and it's hard to say this now, was winning the East in 07. that said, i still didn't like they way they handled the firing/resignation in 08. i did think it was time for change, but that wasn't the way to go out for him.
but i understood those that said "serves him right for how he got the job in the first place...karma is a b***h".
Fulmer has distinguished himself throughout his career in Collegiate athletics. And the parallel between Doug Dickey and Fulmer cannot be overstated. Dickey, a former Vol coach hired Fulmer, who led us to the '98 Title.
Dickey knew UT like few people as a former coach, like Fulmer. And no one is more prepared to make the important hires (and fires) than Fulmer. And no one care's more about the football program.
If Jones isn't the guy I have full confidence in Phil Fulmer to find a coach who can take us to heights only he was able to attain since the days of Neyland.
You guys suck and Kiner has forgotten more about football than you will ever know.
According to Wilson's book and statements in the case from the NCAA, it was Arkansas. So based on that info it was Houston Nutt, his staff, and/or Ark Boosters.Yeah it was Steve Spurrier, but having said that they deserved the death penalty back then! I hate Alabama! Alabama hates Phil Fulmer, so give me Fulmer for AD!
Several of you asking me variations of the same question, and here's my answer: the proof will be in the pudding. He will not be blackburn's #2 if he is hired. If fulmer is hired, he will not permit his closest rival for the job to be his #2 (and DB won't want that either).
So basically, wait and see. Simple.
