I know most of you middle and east tn fans may not be familiar with him but he is pretty well known in west tn. He calls very regularly on all our sports shows. Just wondering if he's a member here. :)

he was a big caller on sports talk shows 20-25 years ago. When Bill King and Bob Bell had show on 1510 he was a regular caller.

One thing for sure 96.5 isn't what it used to be when Chris Harris was there.

Steve used to get on my nerves but I guess Ive gotten used to him.. hes a nice guy with good info, he just rambles on and on. On 96.5 hes not nearly as annoying as Jared the Bama fan who calls every single day and says "and uhhh" 75 times per call

we used to have one of those here in Nashville. His name was Clay and was a big Vandy fan. Not only was that his problem but his voice would drone on like he was ready to break down into depression every time. His big repeat was "ya know....." which usually started every sentence.

Agreed, at least chris knew what he was talking about.. I don't know how those idiots they have on now even got a radio show. I'm convinced I could do a much better job myself.

I'm not local to Knoxville but I do try to listen to some of the sports talk stations up there on my iPhone with the TuneIn app. What area is 96.5 out of? I can't find any listing for it.

Also, what are y'all recommendations for good shows to listen to during the day? Some of the ones I've been listening to are OK but some are absolutely horrible.

None that are going to be all that great. I enjoy the consistant UT updates, but other than that their oppinions and calls are less than desirable.

i wanna say it's out of parkers crossroads/lexington area. not real sure though. their sports shows aren't worth listening to but it is an ESPN affiliate.

Has anyone heard CJ (I think that's his name) call in to The Drive? Dude sounds like he just got kicked in the nuts. Says some off the wall stuff too. Almost think it's an alter ego of Brian Clay or Terry Fair.

I think it's JC who has the real high pitched voice and CJ with the real deep voice. I swear they are both characters played by either Terry or Brian.

I've heard Steve call in to Nashville sports talk for years. He's got a gravelly voice & simply loves the Vols! He's quite knowledgeable & sounds like a truly nice guy.

I love Steve's calls. He's very knowledgable about all thing UT. But he does sometimes sound like he's about to hack up one of his lungs.

I agree with the earlier post, 96.5 is not as good since Chris Harris left. Chris actually did show prep and was quite professional.

Chris is the announcer for the double A Seattle affiliate Jackson Generals, formerly called West TN Diamond Jaxx.

I, too, remember Steve from Lexington. Been some years since I heard him call into a show though.

Country with a K. Good peoples.
