Steele may not happen. Not good if true.

You’re right man ij hate these calls from other SEC coaches and fans laughing in my face because UT refuses to get right.
Ive seen you say a lot of things against the recent decisions.
My question is:

What was UT supposed to do? Remember...Pruitt 0-9 against the big 3.
3-7 in 2020...
So what exactly IS in your view is the path to Success?

I really don’t see the point in hiring Steele if we knew we were days away from firing Pruitt and then hiring a new AD and coach. I mean did we really hire him to be an interim coach for a few weeks in the offseason? We could have just assigned that role to Chaney for a lot cheaper.

It was a Smart move AT THE TIME. Financially it turned out not to be so Smart.

The move was contingent off Fulmer staying around. But they forced him to retire (VERY necessary).

It's no secret Steele tried to get Gus's job behind his back. Couple that, with Steele and Fulmers relationship all these years. Is it really surprising CJH would have concerns about retaining him in ANY capacity? It isn't to me.
Its a no brainer.

People just need to get tf out of the way and let new energy do its thing.

SEC caliber coaches don’t like to join ranks with conference USA guys
All this talk about needing "SEC Caliber Coaches" is amusing, don'tcha think..??
Not to put too fine of a point on it but...our last "SEC caliber coaches" just finished out a 3-7 season, brought crooked players to Knoxville with bags of cash and leave us in DEEP doo-doo with the NCAA.
I'm not sure I understand how this is the "caliber" we must have to succeed.
If I have any questions about the Heupel hire...it is that his success came on Frost's coattails, not something he built himself from square One and Tennessee is gonna require some SERIOUS building.

in the AAC and he lost more games every year. The stuff CJP done is regular football business. Idiot booster got mad and they turned and got JG and family to flip because he got benched. They hv threatened to do this for years. When you are at a school where boosters would rather be 6-6 but strut on the field feeling like they run the show and get mad that coaches don’t kiss azz then you hv what you see here. Money is paid every where real recruiting goes on. Wake up
Do you know which booster?

Half a million for a couple weeks of hanging out by Steele.
$200,000 for search committee.
6 Million in buyouts, not counting staff
4 million a year for new coach.
Still paying PhatPhil.
Gonna have to settle with Pruit...

Spending money like drunken sailors!!!!
But did you turn in your season tickets and allow UT to keep the money? That is the real question. I’m curious how many janitors or other such positions were let go or had their pay reduced in this “Covid” year.
It’s pretty damn disgusting, when you think about it.
GBO!!

JH doing what he wants on defense results in almost giving up 500ypg.

Yikes.

This would be like if Dooley went with BamBam right out of the gates instead of having Justin Wilcox delay the inevitable for 2 years.

Part of this is the offset of a high tempo offense. The more I think about this we will have to adapt what he ran at UCF to the SEC until (if) we get a ton of depth. When you are scoring (hopefully) every 3-5min the by product is short rest for the Defense. Lack of depth is a big reason their defenses ran out of gas last year and gave up leads. Its that or every game is a boat race to the finish.

It will be exciting but you have to have a lot of great 2nd string and good 3rd string guys on the line. We don't.

how would this be a good hire and they couldn’t stop a damn AAC schedule with their pitiful defenses. This is the dumbest hire and foolishness under the sun. The idiot should be told you hv to kp Steele and hire Gardner and the Lb coach not retained at Auburn Travis Williams. All for recruiting purposes because last time I checked they were 4th in AAC in recruiting which is not going to win recruiting battles in the SEC

Yeah the same Randy Shannon who had Florida's D top 20 for the two years he was there. Last time I check Kevin Steele also couldn't stop an AAC school in the 2018 Peach Bowl and Auburn took an L score: 34 -27. The same Kevin Steele that got 70 hung on his defense by what was at the time a Big East school. Kevin Steele would have been nice but let's not act like he's a sure thing at all.

The problem with this offense is you put major pressure on the defense because they are on the field to much. If it’s not Steele he better get someone with SEC defensive experience or it’s going to be a long year.
agreed but let’s be honest our defense is already on the field too much bc our offense is ass. Being down 10-13 feels like 35 the way we have been playing offense.

Not Good if True

Sorry gang, but if oil & vinegar don't blend well together, this might be very good for us.

Let's not do too much naysaying till all the ink dries, ok? We have a new AD and HC in record time and 30 people didn't refuse us this time nor, did VN have to renig on some lame coaches HC offer.

I still don't know why he was hired at all.

I've thot @ this too. Hard to tell Pruitt that he couldn't go, do, and hire whatever he needed without signalling that he was gonna be fired. I assume Steele was part of Pruitts plan to restore the 21 season. Pure assumption on my part tho.

Steele got his last boss fired...

He sees himself as a good HC with a great staff and maybe he'll get another chance one day. He needs to take the show on the road. No way if I was a new coach would I want him around.

Can't really trust him.

Lol you don’t think I know “money is paid” get real.

But to sound the way you do while not logically thinking about how bad our Offense was with someone who was supposed to be a Guru in Jim Chaney (Huepel’s Offenses make Chaneys look like garbage)

Then to see the defensive product we put on the field with a HC who is literally known for his defensive prowess..... speaks for itself.

Huepel may not of been the best hire but it could turn out to be a really good hire for the situation we are in. Especially if he gets the right defensive staff.

As for his ACC loses he lost 4 games each by a score.... we were getting blown out in the SEC with a defensive coach and we went 3-7 lol 😂

Edit: Not to mention UCF had 10 players that were starters Opt out last year. Oh and in 2019 his 3 loses were by a combined 7 points.

2019:
Tulsa - 3
Cincinnati - 3
Pitt - 1

2020: COVID
Tulsa - 8
Memphis - 1
Cincinnati- 3
BYU - 26 (Bowl Game and Only Bad Loss)
I actually watched the Memphis game. UCF played without a bunch of starters AND his field goal kicker was injured and the backup missed a chip shot field goal of like 30 yards for the win. Not defending either way but I’m like you...I want the WHOLE truth! Something we just don’t see anymore.😩😩
