Starters That Kiffin Recruited

Because they protect him from the gorilla outside their back door?

you apparently live somewhere other than the real world. Why, just look at all those stars who would have propelled Fulmer's 09 squad to greatness. Hard for me to keep from crying over the huge mistake we made in firing him for nosediving the program into the sewer.

Idiocy manifests itself in many forms. Ignorance is just the tip of the iceberg.

Good to know I'm still on the right track. Can I get another boost of confidence?

How many years does UT have to lose the east before you guys will admit Gibbs is right?

Stop the JV trolling. One in this thread is enough.

Never heard a recruit say "I want to win a divisional title."

We don't hang banners for winning the East. This isn't basketball. We hang banners for SEC championships. That, in case you were curious, is what Fulmer couldn't do for a decade.

did he say something about Fulmer being such a lazy piece of garbage for his last decade that we have no prayer of winning anything for years? Did I miss that amongst the idiocy about Langley being an All World type or some of the other made up lists of potential starters?

I have no earthly idea why you quoted me in that post.

Langley's senior season will put Henderson's Outland campaign to shame. Dude started six games for Texas Tech last year. Six. Texas Tech.

and those guys were dominating on D. I'd almost go so far as to say that Coleman could have completed a couple to our own team against them, but I have no history with which to prove that.

Dooley himself said it's the RB that makes the OL. It would also be reflected in the market that is the NFL where skill positions receive the far larger salaries. In fact, I believe the D-lineman make more as a group than the O-lineman. That's not to say I don't have a lot of respect for them. I do.

So, there we have it in glorious technicolor: the current TN coach, who is not Phil Fulmer, says you are wrong, wrong, wrong, but please, don't let that stop you from abusing your delusions.

I would like to see the statement. There isn't a doubt in my mind you have taken it out of context in order to support your absurd claim that the offensive line isn't important. The reason OL in the NFL don't make as much money as skill positions has nothing to do with relative importance to team success.

BTW, the best offensive lines we've had at UT were when Phillip was offensive line coach. That's where he was most effective along with recruiting. It became painfully obvious the last 6-7 years that he was completely out of his element as a CEO of a big time football program.

Fulmer also had a great strength and conditioning coach when he was coaching good OLs. Being too sorry to address that over the latter portion of his career was a good portion of his downfall.

The towel waver in conjunction with the hire of Jimmy Ray Stephens signaled the beginning of the end. Watching a bunch of 320 lb blimps try to zone block was just painful at times.

Trolling? Because I am happy with "just winning the east?" Or I'm pissed that we're in the cellar of the SEC East? Whatever you say. :hi:

But we're not in the cellar of the SEC east. And you don't retain an underperforming coach because you're afraid of the rebuild. The underperforming coach WAS the reason we became so irrelevant nationally.

please. 09 was our year. Who cares that Fulmer thought his awful 08 squad was the better of the two. UTGibbs and VegasVol have this stuff down. Lennon Creer and BJ Coleman might be drafted and would have been the difference, when paired with Langley at DT.

Sad that you have to count Vandy and Kentucky to be able to say that...

Also curious why Vol fans are so sure next year is the year... Seems like it should be this year. Then again, I know nothing about football.

It's not sad at all. They are in the division. Always have been, always will be. Neither one of them are going anywhere.

What's sorry is that in 2005, we got our azz handed to us at Neyland by a sub .500 Vandy team. You remember, the year of the perfect storm. The year Phillip stated before our first game that the team had a great chance to do something special. What's sorry is that they narrowly missed a field goal at Neyland in 2007 to win that game and some of these delusional idiots brag about our 2007 eastern division title.

don't be ridiculous. You're talking about a huge proportion of Fulmer's wins. He also gets the benefit of SCe having been horrendous and a large dose of worthless Ole Miss and MSU squads. Hell, even Alabama blew for the majority of his tenure.

BPV, glad you could weigh in. We always need words of wisdom from GoF emeritus.

It amazes me how short your (pl) football memories are.

When Gerald Jones was out last year, tell me what our third down conversions were like? Tell me what happened in those games. Tell me what happened when we lost one player.

Then tell me we wouldn't be better with five players who used to wear the orange, and who would obviously been starters last year.

And while you are at it, can I PLEASE have the reasoning behind:

Simms >> Coleman

Please! I want to get that report to some NFL scouts, yo! I like that Matt Simms kid (no joke), and I want to make sure he gets his shot when he graduates. The scouts have got to know!

Don't be an idiot all the time. Our third down conversions blew regardless who the receivers were and it wasn't a function of the route runners.

The clowns you listed would not have started over anyone we were putting on the field last year, period.

Simms is better than Coleman because his arm strength is better than that of my daughter.

The scouting shiz you're listing is absurd. If you weren't football illiterate, you would damn well know that crap like that is utter trash. It isn't supporting anything you're talking about. The silliness you and vegasclown talk because someone was drafted is idiotic, unless you haven't been around football enough to discuss it. In that case, statistical (half baked, no less) gibberish is where you go.
