I love how this debate has evolved into a discussion comparing two awful quarterbacks, neither of which are good enough to start for the Vols.
Really?
A statue in the pocket is still a statue.
At least Simms has enough arm to air the ball out. He also hasn't quit and went home yet once he got beaten out.
It's amazing to me that you can tell, by watching Coleman look miserable against Vandy and being a pretty bad QB at UTC, that he could be better than Simms.
Simms is far from good but so is Coleman. I would much rather take the guy that doesn't take his ball and go home when he doesn't get his way than the titty baby.
Daniel Hood
Marsalis Teague
J Schofield
Tyler Bray
Channing Fugate
Zach Fulton
Jawuan James
Michael Palardy
Won't count J Smith since he was originally committed to Fulmer.
Won't count J Hunter since he committed to Dooley, but the word was Kiffin had already switched him.
That's 8 out of 24 starters. 1/3 of our team. He missed on a bunch of guys, but he got these players too.
Fulmer recruited these starters:
Willie Bohannon
Austin Johnson
Herman Lathers would be a starter if he wasn't injured.
Tauren Poole
Pre Waggner
Dallas Thomas
We will count this as 5, since Lathers is injured.
Dooley's recruited these starters:
Da'Rick Rogers
Mychal Rivera
Brent Brewer
Justin Coleman
Curt Maggitt
AJ Johnson
James Stone
Matt Darr
Totals to 8. Kiffin recruited the same amount of starter than Dooley in less time. Just wanted to point that out. I'm not a negavol for posting truth and I'm not a fan of Kiffin, just posting facts for the naysayers.
Going from Louisville, to JUCO, to Tennessee is a natural progression. Oh, and he didn't leave JUCO for Tennessee. He finished JUCO, then came to Tennessee.
Going from Tennessee to Chattanooga is pathetic.
Coleman is on top-10 NFL watch lists for being drafted next season. Let's see how Bray does against real competition this year.
FYI: Your boy's favorite QB, Jesse Scroggins, is now 4th string at USC.
Will Coleman be cashing bigger checks than you next year? Why do you keep dodging the simple question?
Coleman didn't quit. From the sounds of it, he did exactly what Poole did, except Poole waited out Kiffin, and Coleman went to find PT ASAP, and felt he deserved it (evidently, so did Clawson).
And now his career prospects look far better than yours, I'm willing to bet.
I'm surprised y'all have already cornered yourself on this issue. Basically, y'all have said Fulmer is Right as Rain, and actually, it's a fair point to criticize him on IMHO.
How do you feel about Fulmer going 5-6 with 20 NFL players on his team?
I think Kiffin is a punk but Gibbs and Vegas live in fantasy land. BJ Coleman does not have an NFL arm. Not even close. And no, I am almost certain he wouldn't be starting now had he stayed. Calling Crompton an NFL QB is a stretch as well. He will never see the field and it's a long shot if he can even make the opening day roster.
Coleman has very rare arm strength. He doesnt have a howitzer like Ryan Mallett, but he has the ability to make every NFL throw with relative ease. I have seen him make multiple throws downfield from the right hash to the far left sideline (and left has to far right sideline) with good zip and perfect ball placement. He absolutely has a NFL arm.

They and people like them CANNOT accept the FACT that Fulmer was no better than mediocre over the last decade of his tenure and showed no signs of being able to rebuild the team.
You know why he couldn't rebuild the team? He didn't know how to do it. Had never done it before.
