Starters That Kiffin Recruited

Daniel Hood
Marsalis Teague
J Schofield
Tyler Bray
Channing Fugate
Zach Fulton
Jawuan James
Michael Palardy

Won't count J Smith since he was originally committed to Fulmer.
Won't count J Hunter since he committed to Dooley, but the word was Kiffin had already switched him.

That's 8 out of 24 starters. 1/3 of our team. He missed on a bunch of guys, but he got these players too.

Fulmer recruited these starters:

Willie Bohannon
Austin Johnson
Herman Lathers would be a starter if he wasn't injured.
Tauren Poole
Pre Waggner
Dallas Thomas

We will count this as 5, since Lathers is injured.

Dooley's recruited these starters:

Da'Rick Rogers
Mychal Rivera
Brent Brewer
Justin Coleman
Curt Maggitt
AJ Johnson
James Stone
Matt Darr

Totals to 8. Kiffin recruited the same amount of starter than Dooley in less time. Just wanted to point that out. I'm not a negavol for posting truth and I'm not a fan of Kiffin, just posting facts for the naysayers.

How do you arrive at that? If you give Kiffin credit for his first class plus Bray et al, you have to say that he had 1 1/2 classes. If you give Dooley credit for Stone et al plus last year's class, you have to say that he has 1 1/2 classes. Given that Kiffin's recruits are now sophs and juniors versus frosh and juniors for Dooley, I give the nod to Dooley (especially when he put his first "1/2" class together in two weeks).

If we still had B.J. Coleman, we better be careful not to schedule Elon considering they picked him off 5 times.

I don't even think Crompton or Nick Stephens ever threw 5 picks in one game.

Can we all just agree that the vast majority of talent on this team, aside from a couple transfers, comes from the 2010 and 2011 classes? Fulmer's 2008 class sucked, and Kiffin's in '09 wasn't up to par either (as he said himself). Either way, we have a bright future.

I think it's obvious that Coleman would have been better than Simms last year. Possibly Bray too, jury still out.

Bray threw more touchdowns in his first 5.5 games of meaningful playing time than Coleman did his entire first season at UTC.

Even if Coleman was better for Bray than a short time, I'd much rather have Bray playing so that we're not going into 2012 with a first year QB.

The team is much better off for the future with Bray than Coleman, and that's really not even debatable.

Yea, it's definitely debatable until Bray plays a halfway decent team. JMO

Oh, for sure. But, it seems like a fairly obvious statement. Our two-deep is extremely young and most of our seniors are worthless.

Completley agree. However, Gibbs and Vegas will likely be here to tell you we would be better off with less talent.

I personally can't wait until the Blackshirts make Coleman eat grass about 30 times this Saturday.

If my memory isn't failing me, the only TD pass Coleman threw in a UT uniform was to a Vanderbilt DB.

Definitely wont be until he plays a real SEC team. Come see me in November.

I'll be sure be sure to remind you of this discussion when Bray is leading the best offense in the SEC in 2012 while Coleman has been long forgotten.
