Starters That Kiffin Recruited

Not after they attended class the next day which was about 3 weeks before Dooley was hired.

Check your facts:
1st day of class for Spring semester 2010...Jan 13th,
Derek Dooley hired...Jan 15th

Making false claims = zero credibility.

Check your facts. They were early enrollees on campus like the 6th or something.

It's fair not counting them, I was just pointing it out. I don't know to what extend the coach gets credit for getting solid transfers.

Also, as has been pointed out by at least one other, you'd expect more starters in the sophomore and junior classes (Kiffin) than the freshman and sophomore (Dooley).

What's fair to say is that both Dooley and Kiffin's 2010 recruits have been contributing at or above expectations, and Fulmer's classes and Kiffin's 2009 class have been under expectations.

Daniel Hood
Marsalis Teague
J Schofield
Tyler Bray
Channing Fugate
Zach Fulton
Jawuan James
Michael Palardy

Won't count J Smith since he was originally committed to Fulmer.
Won't count J Hunter since he committed to Dooley, but the word was Kiffin had already switched him.

That's 8 out of 24 starters. 1/3 of our team. He missed on a bunch of guys, but he got these players too.

Fulmer recruited these starters:

Willie Bohannon
Austin Johnson
Herman Lathers would be a starter if he wasn't injured.
Tauren Poole
Pre Waggner
Dallas Thomas

We will count this as 5, since Lathers is injured.

Dooley's recruited these starters:

Da'Rick Rogers
Mychal Rivera
Brent Brewer
Justin Coleman
Curt Maggitt
AJ Johnson
James Stone
Matt Darr

Totals to 8. Kiffin recruited the same amount of starter than Dooley in less time. Just wanted to point that out. I'm not a negavol for posting truth and I'm not a fan of Kiffin, just posting facts for the naysayers.

Solid post. Glad this thread wasn't just another shot at Kiffin.

I thought Hunter was considering us over LSU bc we would allow him to compete in Track n Field. So maybe it did not mater which coach recruited him?

Regarding Hunter:

1. He was an LSU lock. Everyone knew he was going to LSU
2. In November we suddenly started hearing that Hunter may be unsure and Hunter took an official to Tennessee
3. 5 days after Dooley was hired, an LSU lock decommits and commits to Tennessee

I'm sorry, but if you think that, within 5 days, Dooley was able to turn a kid who wasn't interested in Tennessee, you're completely dense. Hunter wanted to come to Tennessee, then the coach left. At that time, Hunter wasn't fully committed to either Tennessee or LSU. Once he talked to the new coach, he was back on board. Had Kiffin not gotten him in the bag, though, there's no chance Dooley would have turned an LSU lock in 5 days.

Only three of those guys are actually Kiffin recruits (and I'm generously giving you the EEs - and one's the kicker), but hey, who's counting?

Regarding Bray:

1. Bray committed to the Vols
2. Bray came to UT and practiced with the Vols
3. Bray's family moved to Tennessee
4. Kiffin left

Did you really expect him to suddenly leave because of that? He wasn't even a recruit when Kiffin left. He was a teammate.

You said in class, not on campus.

Best check your own posts before you call people out on having their facts wrong.

They had class the next day. You seem to be forgetting this. The next day class started and they were locked in. Stop while your not too far behind.
