By extrapolation, if the second string quarterback in better than the starting QB, then the third string should be better than both!!:banghead2:

If I see one more thread about Bray starting ahead of Simms, I going to........

I want a thread that says "START WORLEY A YEAR EARLY" :dance2:

Obviously CDD thinks simms is a better QB right now or he wouldnt be starting. Bray or Nance could possibly be great quarterbacks, but their just not ready yet Bray would get snapped in half by sec defenses and Nance got here in the fall so he probably doesnt know the playbook well. We have to be patient this year thats all there is to it we should be a competitive team in a year or two. I personally think sims played a pretty good first half against Oregon, but he will have to play well for 60 min. to win, along with the rest of our team.

I like Simms...yes he isn't a top caliber QB...but we dont have one of those on the team....he is level-headed..and learning....like most of the team...and staff...im fine with it....our day will come, where we will ba able to remember these hard times and say ...Damn!?

Extrapolation. Really? Was that necessary? All the "true fans" (as they call themselves) are getting headaches as they read your post.

Dont know how he would play, but I was very surprised at how big Nance is when he walked by me during the Vol walk...that kid is tall and thick.

I rewatched the game last night and geez we had tight ends open all night long...on the deep ball to Zach Rogers that he caught, Rivera was WIDE open down the middle of the field for an easy TD and there were several other plays as well...

If Simms can learn to just go through one progression, we might have a chance to stretch the field...of course we will have to pass block much better as well.

No doubt the offensive line is probably the most important offensive unit for our success (or failure) this season. I said that the qb situation is a critical one (not most critical).

that you did.

How the OL progresses each week this season will dictate the game planning and play calling, not who is at QB..

Not to be a wise a$$ but, the coaches have a different video of the game with wider camera angles. If there is people wide open they will point it out to Simms and coach him up. Sometimes when someone looks wide open on tv they actually aren't.

Well I would certainly hope they would point it out, or we are in bigger trouble than I thought...I saw it in person and then saw it several times on DVR, he missed countless receivers - because he never once looked at anyone other than the first option..

Back up QB led the Vols to a win over Miami in the Sugar Bowl.

He'd been the starter for half the season. Not a backup anymore at that point.

I believe he's also the only UT starting QB who never lost a game (6-0-2 as a starter).

Anyone else think Bray should be the starter?

I think he should play but not start...give him a few series to whirl around in first...especially if simms keeps staring down receivers and counting to 150 before he lets the ball go.

Yes, let's start Nash Nance. No, starting a 2* true freshman quarterback who's only here because it was a package deal with Da'Rick is an excellent idea.
