I seriously had to google after I saw the trailer. I thought they changed characters. Rey looks nothing like she did in The Force Awakens. Why did they change her look so much?

I just assumed the next Star Wars movie would have picked up where the last sequel left off.

It's obvious I was completely lost and didn't realize this new Star Wars movie jumps back to being a prequel which leads me to my next question...

Who the **** does a sequel one year and then follows it up the next year with a prequel. That's some stupid backwards crap.

They are planning to explore the whole history of the SW universe with these anthology movies that come out between the "episodes".

But to your point, I have said I thought this would be confusing to the general audience. Especially with the lead role being another young femalebrunette with an English accent.

They need to step up the marketing so people understand what this story is about.

I know they should..but who cares about the people that don't care? I mean I love Star Wars, but I'm not hardcore like some of you guys, and I knew it. Casual fans will figure it out by the time the movie hits. If not, then it will be hilarious watching their reactions :)

Exactly I'm not a Star Wars need but I grew up watching them and loved it as a kid.. If you know the plot lines it will be easy to figure out..

I personally enjoyed the teaser trailer more, but the new trailer was still pretty awesome. Movie just looks gorgeous, and I really loved that up close shot of the TIE fighter.

Oh, and just the little glimpse of DV (plus the sound of that damn breathing) made me squeal a little.

The shot of the Star Destroyer hovering over and dwarfing that entire city is basically exactly what I've wanted from this movie in one shot. It shows the all powerful dominion and oppression of the Empire over the people in this galaxy. It shows why this rebellion is so important to these people.

I'd be willing to wager that this movie will be better than episode 7.

I think I'm more excited about this than I was for Force Awakens. If Disney can pull off a true war movie feel set in the SW universe it will destroy some records.

I agree about personally being more excited but it remains to be seen if a movie with none of the traditional characters will pull in the all of the causal audiences.

I for one am rooting for it.

You have your MAIN Star Wars movies...then you have your spin offs which come in between the main ones to keep us nerds satisfied.

In the teaser for the teaser that NBC is showing. Is that Donnie Yen that I'm seeing holding a staff in the middle of a pile of stormtroopers?

I read something that says he's supposed to be blind and rely on the force to 'see'. But he's not a Jedi or traditional force user.

Nothing major but the international trailer featured some new dialogue and scenes

New movie poster released and I guess (the final?) trailer is being released in the morning:

New trailer looks amazing imo. Even if it's just a small role, I can't wait to see more Vader.

The visuals are stunning (see the fallen Jedi statue at :40 mark). I think it truly captures how bleak and insignificant the Rebellion actually is against the Empire at this point. Seeing the Death Star, TIEs flying, and the looming presence of the Imperial Star Destroyer are amazing, nothing comes close to the OT time period IMO. Also I geeked out seeing original X-Wings in a space battle again :cray:

I wonder if that could be a preemptive strike by the Alliance which fails? I remember that an early new canon book, Tarkin (I think), addressed such a scenario where the RA launched an assault on the DS with a former Clone War era carrier loaded out with X-wings but the Death Star destroyed it with it's super laser.

Most likely better than A Force Awakens with less box office.

Has the potential to be the best Star Wars movie yet, just judging from the trailer. I love the dark tone, and the visuals/landscapes look absolutely phenomenal!

I. Can't. Wait.
