Star Wars Battlefront 3 (PC, PS4, X1) game play trailer set to unveil on 04/17/2015

I'd say neither. I'd love to see more gamers wean themselves off of the first person shooter "teat" for a while and dare to diversify their gaming palette. Instead of COD, Halo, Battlefront, etc. Look at titles like Fallout 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Bloodbourne, The Uncharted Collection, The Witcher 3, Until Dawn, etc or go deeper into the console libraries and look at some older titles like Alien Isolation, Shadows Of Mordor, The Last of Us Remastered, etc.
After busting one's ass in the field for 10 hours, it's nice to sit down and decompress with a little mindless fun via a shooter or sports game. It's entertaiment, not a spirit quest. To each their own.

Agreed, while I enjoy all the games Brave is talking about, I enjoy winding down with either a mindless shooter or a sports game.

Hey whatever floats your boat man. It just astonishes me to see gamers pay full price every year for essentially the exact same experience (COD and Madden). If you're going to do that, why not just keep playing the older versions and save yourself some cash?

You can play both. I've played Fallout, Tomb Raider, Bloodborne, the Last of Us, the Uncharteds, Alien Isolation, Shadow of Mordor, and the Witchers. But after beating them once, I have no reason to play them again. When my old college buddies are online, I play online multiplayer games with them. When they're not, I'll play the single player games. Also, the Uncharted Collection and the Last of Us Remastered are rehashed versions of the exact same experience. People could just play the older versions and save themselves some cash.

I've never played any previous versions of this. But not new to the "Shooter" genre. I've played Socom, COD, Battlefield and Rainbow Six. Socom by far the greatest shooter of all time.

So here is my take on it. I love the fact you can play 1st or 3rd person view. I prefer 3rd person myself. So I was trying to get some rank in the multi-player room, I believe it's called "Blast". Basically a Team Death Match style, which I like.
Let me say this, do not go in being a low rank, YOU WILL DIE! I am currently ranked at a 5, and the weapons you can get just can not hang with the higher ranked players. There was so many times I had the jump on the opposition, nothing worse than than shooting them in the back and they turn around and drop you. So tonight I will go into the Air Assault room and rank up that way.

My PS4 Tag is the same as my screen name if anyone wants to add me.

They definitely made this game easy for people, which is a good thing. Most hardcore Star Wars fans are a little older so the simplicity works.

Hard to tell right now, until I get ranked up. I'm definitely out gunned at a Level 5. Don't like the fact that you have to rank up to get specific weapons/perks. It feels like I'm going into battle with a slingshot and everyone else has AK-47's.

Of this list I would highly recommend Bloodborne and all the other Souls games. You are doing yourself a great disservice if you're not playing these games.

There's nothing crazy about them, nothing complex. It's just you and your weapon of choice trying to survive and it is wonderfully simplistic. Very difficult games, and you have to be smart. I can't wait for Dark Souls 3.

Amen, preach.

First person on this game sucks but I enjoy third person a lot . Kinda reminds me of the first two .

My only issue is not enough maps

How is the online play, thinking of picking this up today, looks amazing.

It reminds me of destiny honestly .

It's great for the first 10 or so hours but it just starts to lose momentum . Sound and visual is 10 gameplay is about a 7 or 8 to me .

I hate hoth respawns , and the sith villians are much better then the heroes . Also almost impossable to get long range kills

Guns are decent but really everyone uses one of two guns . If u liked the gameplay from the first two battle fronts u will like this one .

My biggest complaint is no intergalactic conquest mode and no pre episode 4 things like droids or clones

I still get nostalgic each time the word "Socom" pops up. What an ingenious system on which Socom was built upon. It blows my mind that not a single developer has taken the risk to replicate or even make a comparable product. Is "respawning" really that necessary? Do servers really have to place gamers where they deem fit, thus taking away the freedom for consumers to choose their own "briefing room"? Are killstreak rewards required to make a shooter gamer happy in today's gaming world?

I wrote off COD after the first Black Ops. Those that played Rainbow 6, Socom, and Ghost Recon in their respective primes know what a truly successful shooter is. FPSs have fallen short for many years now.

So I rented this over the weekend and here are my thoughts...

+ This game absolutely nails the look, the sound, and the feel of Star Wars! I don't think I've ever played a Star Wars game that made me feel like I was really in that universe the way this game does. The engine is gorgeous to look at and the sounds are spot on.

+ Gameplay mechanics are great! Controls are very intuitive and I love the ability to switch between 3rd and 1st person views!

+ Bravo to DICE for creating a relatively glitch-free online experience. Considering how many issues Battlefield 4 had at launch, I wasn't optimistic that this game could launch with little to no issues. However surprisingly everything ran buttery smooth for me!

- After a few hours I thought the game felt very repetitive. The maps seemed fairly small and I was constantly running into the "danger zones" where I had to turn around or die. I wish the maps were bigger and that there was more exploration in the game (the EXACT same issue I had with Destiny).

- Content wise, I felt the game was a little light. I'm sure if you purchase the season pass, this issue is addressed, but then you're basically paying 110.00 for content that IMO should've been there from the beginning.

Overall, DICE has created a fantastic Star Wars engine that really makes you feel like you're in that universe. However in many ways, this felt more like a large tech demo than a fully realized game. I really miss not having a full fledged campaign included and the single player modes got boring after a while. I enjoyed the mulitplayer modes somewhat but competitive PVP online multiplayer just is not my thing.

I agree, it nails the sights and sounds of Star Wars. This game is very light on content and there is no teamwork whatsoever, which is mind blowing coming from Dice.

Also, I really feel they rushed this to get it out before the movie. People are getting scammed having to pay for a season pass.

I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan. I will not be getting this game (at full price), there's just not enough content.

I just orders a PS4 that comes with Battlefront and four old Star Wars games: Super Star Wars, Pod Racer, Jedi Fighter, and Bounty Hunter.

Ordered a Turtle Beach headset as part of a bundle and it took $20 off, which is pretty great.

Can't wait to try it out!

I like the game... play it all the time, could use some tweaking though.

It just needs more things to do. Content wise, this is about a 30.00 game. I'm sure DICE was pressured to have this out to coincide with the film release, which is why it feels more like a tech demo than it does a full game. I decided to wait and give it a year to see what gets added. It would be cool if DICE would add a Pod Racing game mode the way Bungie added sparrow racing to Destiny. Wampa hunting would be awesome. Space battles are a must! I would love an updated Death Star space battle or battle of Endor.

DICE deserves this for partnering with EA. You know they forced this game to be out before the movie.

Really too bad how they went downhill, no surprise though. That said, it's not as if the movie release was a surprise, and they've been talking up the game for years, indirectly.

Death Star map would be pretty cool. The one on Battlefront 2 was the best. Hunt mode on Battlefront 2 was great too.
