I give em a C

Long term I still feel like we have our coach

But too many pre-snap penalties.

Not enough imagination on offense.

Team essentially had 3 weeks to prepare for Florida and they were not ready for that game.

I do like the fight. They are playing with more discipline on defense. And the Freshman are producing.

The defense is flashing glimpses of what a Pruitt D could be. But the offense has been disappointing and at times they just look lost

Some things to be excited about, but lots of work to do

I gave him/them a C. The staff has too many players that wouldn't see the field for most SEC teams. Can't blame that on JP

Need to go out and recruit a top notch QB

D

We have played 3 big games so far.

A- Win 1, competitive in 2
B- Win 1 or competitive in 2
C- Competitive in at least one
D- Not Competitive in any games, but showing some growth and winning games we should.
F- Loss to UTEP or ETSU/No growth shown

It's been disappointing but how much of that is on the staff? Can't give them a F, but a D is appropriate. C if we can compete against Auburn or Alabama.

The defensive guru at head coach has a defense giving up 40+ ppg against teams with a pulse.

The offense has shown next to nothing through 4 games other than mauling a couple of overmatched teams.

Sure, they inherited a mediocre group of talent but I can't point to one thing they have improved from last year's version of the Vols.

Guarantano is looking slightly better but melted down against FL. The O line is still an absolute mess and we still have a defense that can't tackle.

If D+ was an option I would have gone that route. As it is, they got an F from me.

Regardless of what you think of JG he has inproved.
Good production from the backs.
When given a chance the WRs have been solid.
Overall STs have been solid.
DL has played much better.
Definitely like the future of the young guys.
FIGHT! A big deal and if they dont give up after the Bama game, the back half looks much more manageable after today.

Terrible playcalling, including me being confused at some of the D calls.
OL is still not good.
JG is another Dobbs when it comes to deep balls- just isnt going to get better at it.
They still aren't capitalizing on anything. They arent catching breaks, which is a part of that.
Secondary still cant cover.
LBs are just awful.

After today I give them a C+ after a D- last week. If they dont at least keep it close against Auburn after a bye, its back to a D.

A coach earns his $$$$ by the way his team plays at the beginning of the halves and at the end of the halves. In the 3 games that matter, we've been run off the field during those timeframes. Therefore, I go with D.

Or you can average in the WV games (D-), Florida (F-) and UGA (C-) and get credit for turning in your homework against UTEP and ETSU and get the same D

Idk honestly. There's so many moving parts right now, I have no idea what kind of a coach we have. But I do know one thing, For years I tried to tell people Lyle Jones was an even worse coach than he appeared, but due to a horrible SEC East a lot of his dumbassery was hidden. Pruitt ain't gonna have that luxury. Florida has their guy. Kentucky seems like they've finally decided to joint the SEC. SCAR is decent pretty regular. Pruitt may be a really decent coach, and still struggle. It's big boy football in our division again.

A for Awesome.

I like the versatility Helton is showing each week. Loved the end arounds. You watch, we WILL catch someone off guard and one of these is going to go for a big play. Just like anything we have to give it time.

D bordering F. I see Muschamp / McElwain written all over JP. Saban Assistant coaches are poison. Smart just found the right bag man to succeed. With the talent he has, he should be looking like Bama this year and he is definitely no Bama. You have to pray that JP knows the right bag man too.

We're 2-2. That's a 50 which is a failing score. That said I saw a better team on the field this week than last week by far. Consequently that is improvement and I'd give them a passing grade for the effort in the second half.
