There is also a head coach that is MIA because he still thinks he is a position coach not to mention that he has already admitted that he is ignoring offense completely.
This isn't going to end well.
I'm glad Pruitt is not trying to micro manage every position like Butch did. Let your Assistants coach their groups that is what they are there for. I think we'll be a better team without the micro management. We will certainly get better defensively with Pruitt helping there.
What is one of the first things Pruitt has done to get us more competitive? Put players in more appropriate positions.
If you looked at highlights from Tyler Byrd and Evan Berry from High School. It was pretty obvious one was a defensive player...the other offensive.
Yet..somehow Butch had them flipped! You and others will see how badly this roster was mismanaged
Look at recruiting rankings from guys across the board on defense.
It's 4th probably....behind Bama, UGA and LSU.
Taylor, Allen, Patterson are all special edge rushers. They'll be standing up and making plays to.
Talent wise defensively we are right on par with LSU...
Not even close to LSU's talent level. Based on the players they have, UT is slow at LB, weak at DT, no proven speed rusher on the edge, no proven cover corner (none), and only one player who has proven himself to have the ability to play safety in the SEC.
I will be happy if we can just get this set of linebackers to just line up correctly. That would be a huge improvement.
I really want to believe you but there are no facts to support your post.
I believe this drill mainly focuses on leverage and explosiveness off an opponent. That's my best guess.
Coaching pointsHonest question for any coaching types out there...whats the purpose of the linemen hitting the sleds while on their knees? What is that developing?
