Spot up shooters

I watched the Alabama game and finally realized we do not run an offense for a spot up shooter(McBee). Time and time again Golden would penetrate the defense, only to be totally collapsed on and McBee would be patiently standing to his right or left feet set at the three point line, Golden totally ignoring him. Why, if I can see McBee is open can't the coaches tell Golden, McBee is open. Explain!

Could be because he shoots nothing but bricks. I would ignore him also.

I encourage anyone who believes McBee is a good shooter to look at his career numbers. He's a 34% 3 point shooter. That might be a good batting average, but it's not acceptable for a 3-point specialist, especially one that is a D-II level defender.

I would take what he shot last year- 39%. Near 40% is above average, and above 40% is really good. There are 44 players in D1 basketball who shoot 40% or above, 25 are 42% and above.

If he shoots 39% this year, he would have hit 8 more 3 pointers. In the right games, that may have won us a couple of more. Just hitting a couple a game is huge for this team.

Also, McBee plays absolutely awful defense...I can't believe he can still walk with all those broken ankles.
