When Fils-Aime was the only RB taken in his class, I knew we would be thin if Hurd or Kamara left early. With both gone, it would have been great if we could have snagged one more in that haul.

Kelly deserves a lot of touches, 20ish. Chandler has already been anointed the chosen one he needs lots of touches too, 10-15. TEs need more touches than last year, 10-15. Byrd needs touches all over the field, 5-10. Jennings, Calloway and other WR need touches too 30 at least. 5-10 QB rushes to go around as well.

thats already 80 touches on the low side. which is about what we average. this is also ignoring game flow and match ups and simply giving guys touches.

where/how does berry come in to play? and this isn't even considering the other RBs, and assuming a drop in QB runs.

Ty can cut on a dime and his vision is amazing. He also has great speed and balance. He will put up big numbers in Knoxville I'm willing to bet.

I know I'm going against the grain, but I expect CFA to surprise some people and become a solid #2 RB. Chandler getting scout team and maybe 2-3 carries a game.

I expect Kelly to get the lion's share of the carries, but they definitely need CFA, Chandler, Jordan, or Coleman to step up and be capable of contributing 10-15 carries a game without much drop off.

If none of those guys are quite ready, they might have to get a little creative and make start ivolving guys like JJ and Byrd in the running game a bit here and there. Maybe Coleman (he's about 220, I believe) will be able to contribute in short yardage and/or goal line situations.

I think we signed Chandler and Tim Jordan last cycle. So, on paper that would give us 4 scholly RBs. That's still a bit precarious when your SO is unproven, and your FR have yet to even go through a college camp. Hard to imagine 100% of those 3 panning out, if history is any indicator.

I think you're way off based on what little we saw from CFA last year.

I think he will eventually contribute, but not until JR/SR seasons.

I have been saying this since the Outback Bowl, Berry is a playmaker, they need get him the ball and let him make plays.

I would say with this offensive scheme and a solid experienced O-line...we finally have 3 perfect RB's to fit it taking pressure off of the QB position...Ethan Wolf will have the biggest season in his career with young WR's...but we have mad young talent at WR...the key ingredient the Volunteers have all over the field...which can't be coached...

I guess that you didn't watch the Orange and White game this past spring. CFA struggled in that game, he seems heistate when carrying the ball and he is woefully undersized to be a SEC RB. IMHO, if CFA is the second best RB on the team this year, the Vols are in big trouble.

Kelly starts gets the big carries when it counts. Out early in the warmup games. CFA 3rd down back when we need 3-10 yards. He will be the swing pass check down guy. Chandler with will be the 2nd back taking the running load off Kelly. By mid season chandler will play a lot more.

Kelly in short yardage and red zone.

Others get time in mop up and when there are injuries to the top three.

I wasn't impressed by him in the O&W game either, but he was banged up, TBF. Still, I'm not sure he'll ever be as natural of a runner as Kelly or Chandler (I'm pretty high on Jordan, too).

I've been saying for a while that if CFA is gonna carve out a niche for himself this year, he's gonna have to find ways to make himself valuable in the passing game. I was impressed with his receiving coming out of HS, but the only pass we've seen go to him so far was a drop in the spring game. Hopefully he'll take a big step over the next month or two

Relax guys, Ty Chandler is the real deal. Jelly gets his 25 touches a game and Chandler gets 15 touches with CFA as the 3rd option. When I say touches, I mean carries and receptions because I expect Jelly and Ty to be very involved with the passing game

I think it's gonna be Ty.. he has that ability to see a hole and hit it. No useless juking, no indecision, plants that foot and goes. Put another 15 pounds on him and he is gonna be a monster.

Edit - and has a nice stiff arm as well.

Everyone need to get the Berry to RB out of their minds. Berry was 2nd string RB for his HS team. He has never been considered a RB by anyone.
