That can work for you... and that can work against you. It will always depend on the players reaction and that is something you cannot predict. I have seen her player react both ways. She is not loyal to her players beyond their time on the team. In other words.... she is a user. It has worked but still she is a user.Watching OU/LSU on replay. One thing I have always loved about Kim Mulkey.
You screw up?
Just head toward the bench. She’s sending in someone else. She doesn’t do the whole “let them play though their mistakes.” If you’re doing something dumb she’s immediately gonna give you a chance to think about it from the bench.

There's a lot to dislike about Kim, but I have often thought she can be very reflective, has a tremendous wealth of bball knowledge, and she can be quite generous to her competitors. There is a reason kids are willing to take the lumps and bumps that come from playing for her.Coach Kim Mulkey gave a really good post game interview tonight after a tough loss. You can find it in this link. I’m not here trying to disparage her, just the opposite. It’s worth a watch, she knows what she is doing as a coach at this level obviously and can express her feelings in a respectful and meaningful way. She really does understand all of the nuances of the game at the highest level and her track record is no accident. Younger coaches take notes, much to be learned from her years of experience at this stuff.

I don't like her sideline attire or her antics but she can flat out coach. We need someone very similar her and PHS but it's not easy to find. There's a lot to dislike about Kim, but I have often thought she can be very reflective, has a tremendous wealth of bball knowledge, and she can be quite generous to her competitors.
