Sources: UT Athletics Mulling New Apparel Deal With Adidas

Just as long as they don't use the Adidas football. Story goes when we were with Adidas the last time. They tried using the ball in practice it wasn't well liked by the players that's why we used the Wilson football. There's only 2 schools that I know of that are with Adidas that use the Adidas ball Texas am and miss st

If they keep the uniforms basically the same, then good. But if they go back to some of the terrible crap they did, then bad.

The football, basketball, and baseball uniforms are all fine and don't need to be changed (other than the football SGs, those are crap).

I’ll be a little disappointed if we go back to Adidas. I’ve thought the Nike uniforms have looked really clean. Haven’t liked all the alternates, but they did a great job with our traditional home/away unis.

Am I the only one who hate the Nike numbers on the football jerseys? I hate the font with open 4.

I think Nike could have done much better in the uniform design department myself. How much real love do you get when they've got 90% of the schools.

I'm all for exploring opportunities. Just get the colors right.

Tennessee will keep the "Tennessee" wordmark and number font that they started wearing in 2015 if they move to Adidas.

They are gonna do what they are gonna do. I am not a huge fan of Adidas nor Nike. IMHO, give Under Armour a look. I bet they might do better.

Welp, had a good run. I expext danny white to have a new job in 2-3 years. Here marks the beginning of the restart

Because of a logo on a shirt? That's middle school girl mentality right there worrying about what "brand" someone is wearing instead of what kind of player/person they are. Go jump on the Florida or Georgia bandwagon if a swoosh their uniform is the hill you want to die on

Don’t know how it will affect things in the long-term, but the person who was leading the negotiation on this deal just left to take the AD job at Georgia Tech. Might cause some delays in the process.
Maybe this move to GT will give Alpert the Adidas fix he needs.

If Nike is willing to give Tennessee a top 10 deal, they will stay with Nike. Otherwise, they are taking the Adidas money that is significantly larger than almost every Nike deal. It’s not a personal preference for Ryan, Danny, or anyone else. It’s about an amount of money too significant to pass up, unless things changed with Nike in a hurry. I am merely pointing out that the point person for the negotiations is now leaving at a time where we are a week or two tops away from it needing to be resolved.

With the exception of three or four people who have been at Tennessee for more than 10 years, virtually every administrator working at UT presently has been a Nike person for their entire athletics career. No one is bringing feelings or nostalgia into this, it’s only about the money in perhaps the only facet where they can make it all about the money.

I have every confidence that the AD will fulfill their fiduciary duty.

Ugh, I actually liked the font adidas used on our last uniform with them that mimicked the power T… the number and letter lean that shows the state angles is a bit forced imo. If anything I was hoping for an update

Thanks for the reply, but I was joking about Ryan Alpert. I understand that they all have a job and responsibilities to do what’s best for the school, especially now given the rev share stuff. Do Jordan Brand schools count as top 10 Nike $ schools or is that it’s own separate category?

Random Question I was hoping you might have the answer to…. Why does Alumni Hall have a much better selection and variety of labels than the Volshop? Even fanatics seems like they get stuff ahead of the Volshop.
