Sorry, No Hot Seat

Does Saban count his FCS wins? I'll make the question easier. Name me a FBS coach that doesn't count their FCS wins and I'll hang up and listen.

Saban doesn't bring up his FCS wins when asked about the Alabama football program's goals being to win conference and national championships.

I sincerely doubt UTboosters are ok with mediocrity. i’m sure theyre keenly aware of what happened to their program when Hamilton the businessman hired he who shall not be mentioned, then his homerun Dewley. Besides they arent going to fire Butch in middle lf the season.

I am just speculating here but I believe the reason why he is not on the hot seat is because the cost it be to get rid of him and bring another coach in. We finally got our financial problems in order, so firing a coach now would be very hard. His buyout is in between six and eight million. Then add the other coaches, so bump that up to twelve million. Now hire a new top of the line coach like we want. Another five million. Pay his buyout, lets lowball and say three million. You are looking at twenty million dollars to get rid of and hire a new coach. And before you start the crap saying donors can do it. There is a reason why donors are millionaires and billionaires, they don't just give money away. Yes they have buildings all over campus with there name on it. They get tax write offs for all that. I'm pretty sure you can't get a tax right off for paying a buyout for a coach.

Yet donors all over the country do it for their university continually. Bryant Jr sneezes millions of dollars into Alabama. Pickens drops even more into Okie St. Knight writes blank checks to Oregon. Les Wexner spends millions in almost every dept of Ohio St. You Butch savers blow my mind

Is Tennessee becoming Vandy? All the great recruiting and look at the product on the field, something amiss, no?

He said what every AD says 6 weeks before he fires a coach.

The words are meaningless. The fact he feels the need to release a statement is all you need to read into.
