True. However... if we played next years schedule we wouldnt even be bowl eligible. Our schedule was super soft this year and we didnt beat ONE decent team.

Lea has progressed (and had his best season in year 5 this year. *and improved from 3-4-5-).

I remember the scuttlebutt about Dabo a little (but they really had no reason to b****). Bowden was OK at best, and never topped 9 wins

Dabo. Majors. Coaches barely last 5 years now most of the time so there isn't a huge sample size. Gundy had a great year pretty deep into his tenure. Kirk Ferentz has always been steady but cranks it up and has an Orange Bowl type year every now and then. Mark Richt I think had something like 10 seasons with 10 or more wins at Georgia. In his 12th season at Georgia he went 12-2 and had a top 5 finish and missed playing ND in the national championship because they lost the SECCG on the last play against Alabama. Historically teams have cycled up and down even with good coaches but as I said nationally schools have gotten so trigger happy firing coaches that there aren't alot of opportunities for guys to rebound.

So TN is equal to Okie State and Iowa now, got it. You can settle for mediocrity, doesn't mean we all have to.

Okie State isn't a major program. Iowa isn't a major program.

Didn't say any of that, there just aren't many examples of long tenured coaches anymore. Dabo got beat 70-33 by WV in the Orange Bowl his 4th year. He won 11 his 5th and 6th years and went back down to 10 his 7th.

Richt won 11 his 7th year, 10 his 8th, 9 his 9th, 6 his 10th, back up to 10 his 11th and 12 his 12th.

P.S. Iowa and Oklahoma State also have more wins than Tennessee in the 21st century.

Nah, his time is gone. He had a chance to come here like 5 years ago due to how horrible our program was and he still ****ed it up. No one wants the guy. He's 2002 washed up

Dabo has a NC or 2, I can't recall. Richt never won chit that mattered, hence why they let him go (arguably the "worst" coach to do less with more).

Pick nearly any mediocre school and they probably have more wins than TN in that period (a VERY low bar). I'd bet Memphis State does....
