Someone tell Lofton

To play ball or sit down. Not only is he not hitting anything he shoots. He's not driving in, he's not getting to the foul line, and today he played the worst damn Defense I've seen him play since he was a Vol. Maybe we should put Ramar in for Lofton. Take that weak stuff somewhere else Chris. Pathetic!

hahahahaha....Is this for real? Is someone going to dig up the "Should Lofton be benched...." thread?

No one is perfect, all of Lofton's shot's went through the net or rimmed out. He also has the green light from anywhere on the court...so NO, Chris is not pathetic!

I agree, Lofton has no heart and we would be much better off with Ramar in there:crazy:

If Lofton had Ramars heart he'd be twice the player he is now. Sorry but playing at 50% doesn't win ball games at tis time of the year

Let me remind all of you people who worship the ground Lofton walks on, this is not a "Lofton should be benched" thread, I said someone should tell Lofton to play ball or sit down. He is NOT playing to his potential

We know Chris can throw down some shots...but it is wild that he can be so pushed off his shot as he is at times. I thought that he would be much larger factor in today's second half than he was.....I don't know what to make it of it.....personally, I think that Bruce knows how to get him his look......if he needs it. But...less than 10 pts. a game makes me wonder...

You don't think Lofton has heart!?! Look at all the games where he has won the game with HIS SHOT. If it hadn't been for his last second shot in the SEC tourney against SC, UT would've been sent home...

If everybody else had to work as hard as lofton does to try and get an open look then we would have alot of tired players.

Lofton is not exactly Mr. Hustle off the ball. He stands around way too much looking for other people to get him involved instead of getting himself involved.

someone tell Lofton..."thank you carrying this team the past three years". it amazes me how people have the nerve to question this kids heart and/or game. A more accurate statement would be that he is slow. Chris is doing the same thing he's been doing since he came here, the only difference is that he's not hitting as many shots as he used to. What if teams put as much energy in stopping Tyler Smith as they do Chris? would it be fair for CBP to bench him too if he wasn't playing as good as you thought?

it's not about worshippng the ground he walks on, what if Lofton did sit down as you suggest. You think Tyler Smith would be as free to do what he has done? A perfect example of that was yesterday when T.S. was working #54 down low, #4 came from behind and stole the ball. It's easy to say "he's not playing hard", but how much work is he exerting throughout the entire game to get looks.

Chris plays with heart...he plays as hard as anybody on the court...no he is not shooting the ball well right now, but tyler had 7 turnovers yesterday along with jp's 6. Chris is not playing great right now, but he did hit some big shots. We only have at most 4 more games to watch him in an orange and white uniform so lets enjoy it and not bash one of the top 5 tennessee basketball players of all time.

After four years and everything Chris has done, I'm honestly ashamed that some Vol fans would question his HEART. Is the guy playing his best ball? Heck no. But I do not doubt for one second that Chris Lofton is working his butt off to take this team further than they've ever been before. Perhaps Lofton's calm demeanor could suggest he isn't giving 100%? That's the only thing I can think of. Lofton is a true team player and would be just as happy scoring 3 as he would 30...as long as his team wins. A lot of athletes just say that kind of thing, but it's clear Chris really means. By all means, criticize his play all you want, but please...never, ever question this kid's heart.

Given your Avatar and the way you choose to represent your opinion on this board is a direct reflection of your ability to make a credible thread worth discussing. You have chosen the worthless route. So be it. Self image goes a long way in life and you are starting it in a welfare type fashion. Get to the line before the money runs out.

It must be who you are. CBP has balanced this team out and for some strange reason he has chosen to use Lofton as more of a decoy versus a scorer. A Coach's descreation of which I totally support.

Hey ... I don't think Lofton's playing "great" right now, but you'll never hear me say "Put Lofton on the bench."

That guy's shown me toooooo many times what he can do.

I'll never say that about Lofton. Agreed,he is't playing his best at the moment but I think he will be ready to play Thursday, considering what is at stake.I also feel like our team has lost some of it's "team" mentality. Hopefully all will be well and our guys will play with urgency. Go Vols!:salute:
