Some UT "fans" are total pieces of poop

Well some of us believe people like you are what is wrong with this country today.

Anyone has the right to want or not want someone to coach their favorite team or a coach at their school. Fans have the right to think for themselves and to dislike someone because of any situation. No one knows exactly what happened.........but we dont have to except this guy if we dont want to..........simply because it may have happened......or for any other reason.

Now days if your not liberal, and dont believe what they do, or think how they do........you are the devil. And that is how any democratic society crumbles (not by liberals...as they can think how they want...but by people, media, and government trying to dictate how others should think).

People not from Tennessee, and the media can bash us all they/you want; however fans have the right to express their opinion and at least in this case get something changed.

Every time people take to the streets to protest ANYTHING under the sun......most media talk like they are the most awesome people......trying to enact change (and most of the time they are really doing nothing).......but when people from Tennessee (southern, mostly conservitive) do it............we should be ashamed of ourselves.......go figure.

Nailed it.

Good post.

I wont say that I liked the thought of hiring the guy, so its not a big deal there. I dont like that so many people waited until the guy was going to be announce before standing on there soapboxes. If he was such a bad guy and volnation knew all of this, why not raise these questions over the past few weeks that his name was mentioned as a candidate? Currie should have know the public opinion on this guy weeks ago, not a couple of hours before signing him.

I dontknow anyone who thought he was actually going to be the next coach.....so why would anyone bother.

Also even until early Sunday morning only 1 person on here actually thought he was going to be the guy.......and many giving the same complaints that came out today.

It was reported that Currie knew there would be some flack, but thought they could work through it.........if he thought this, he should have came forward earlier, told everyone who their guy was, why he was, and explain everything (that they legally could) about his vetting. Then he could try to get people on board or at least know how big the fallout was going to be.

Never once said i supported the guy. Just bush league of the fans to not voice there concerns until now. Especially, if they felt so strong about this guy being totally not hireable by UT.

How the hell we were supposed to know they were going to hire him until it broke today. This whole damn thing has been so hush, hush and nothing but the worthless media guessing who was going to be interviewed.

That's right. Total pieces of $h^&. All this nonsense seems to have been brought on purposely by fans. No one at UT gives a rats a$$ about what that guy was doing at Penn St. He has been a head coach at two major programs in college, a head coach in the NFL, and now a DC at Ohio St. If he had a role in the Penn St scandal it would have effected is position at one of his previous stops. Awfully convenient that UT fans dont like the choice, now all of sudden he is at the heart of the Penn St scandal. What a joke. Unreal.

Who are the nine pieces of filth who liked this?

It was just unsealed and made public last year it wouldn't have effected his previous jobs. Do some research before just blurting out stuff. It would have come out no matter what his next stop would have been. Horrible post.

Give it a rest. This isn't about strong-arming the athletic department, this is about winning football games and doing it with someone at least worthy of the opportunity here.

This idiot was halfway decent at Rutgers and leveraged his way into the NFL, where he was garbage. Sure, Spurrier and Saban were garbage in the NFL, but at least they won SEC and National Titles before trying their hand at it. Schiano was "fair" in the Big Least Conference, and used his position as a coach at Penn State to get that job, where even just the AROMA of being around that scandal should have eliminated his name from our search.

Then he went to the NFL and made enemies with everyone, including Peyton Freaking Manning, of all people.

So if UT goes and hires someone like Mike Norvell now, I may not hold a party and shoot fireworks off at my house, but at least he's an up-and-coming coach with local recruiting ties, 2 years of effective playcalling with Fuentes recruits (who were still no 5-star guys here) and a clean moral resume.

If you can't wrap your head around why we united today, then perhaps you should follow Butch Jones out the door.

The guy is a dirtbag regardless of the Penn State story. Do your research.

I don’t hear other big time schools clamoring to hire the guy. Do you? Wonder why that is?

How about nobody really knew that Currie would be stupid enough to consider this hire. Once it came out, fans let him know right away that Schiano was unacceptable. The ball was in Currie's court; he chose the wrong way to play it - period.

But he wasn't John Gruden and that's what I wanted. And if I don't get what I want, I throw a fit and stomp my feet.

Count the names on the Gruden thread.......who actually wanted him......and of those who really thought he would come.......and then tell us how many that is.

Most Vol fans never thought Gruden was even a possibility, and of those who kind of did.......got off the boat weeks ago.

Tennessee fans were told by Currie "An exhaustive search is underway for a person of the highest integrity and character with the skills and vision to propel Tennessee to championships."

This was a lie and fans reacted, and let their voices be heard.

None of us know of the accusations are true..........but with everything going on in our country.......why even bother. Also many people, players, former players & even coaches have expressed how he was a dirty coach. When Greg the Douch was with Tampa he was voted as the coach players least wanted to play for. Of all players, voting on all coaches, players would rather play for anyone than him.

This is NOT a Gruden thing.......this is a horrible coach thing........bad coach.......bad character, who even former players dislike.

Even state legislators, several boosters, and AD employees were against this hire. Shut up

What the same legislators that endorsed Roy Moore, and oh yeah the president who by the way was accused by 16 women of sexual assault. Even had a video bragging about it see Billy Bush video for ref. If unclear about what was said.thats TN though we have the moral high ground of a 90s catholic pope. Even more funny a little birdie testifies in an insurance claim in court that he heard not from Schiano himself, but bradley told him 15 years earlier that a 22 yr old in Schiano may or may not have witnessed the improprieties. TN fans and its sad really as i am one are a bunch of over reactionary buffoons. We have no problem with a sexual predator as POTUS, but believe the he said she said testimony in a bleeping insurance claim trial that the DA said himself was uncredible in the criminal trial.

Some of these legislators..........are Democrats......I highly doubt they are endorsing Moore........also MANY Republicans came out weeks ago saying he should drop out.

Oh like Rep. Jason Zachary who called Roy Moore's win over Luther Strange a win for the American people. Oh yeah thats right. So where are the TN republicans on calling for Trump to be impeached, or to resign. 16 women they all cant be lieing. Surely its fake news. SMDH. TN as a University, a state, and its fans are delusional hypocrites.

Personally from me this wasn’t about the Psu
Incident
This was about taking a cheap hire instead of going out after the better hires
There were better candidates and you choose a defense coordinator
No thanks
My children don’t need to go to the University of Tennessee if that’s the case and they won’t now because of them not caring about the program

Even more funny is TNs love child Peyton Manning was accused of sexual assault, but but but he said he didnt do it. Tn fans
"Peyton is innocent he said so himself" Schiano 'I didnt know or see anything' TN fans "Nope he guilty" so what is it. Is it because Peyton's accuser was a female that she isnt believed, but because another male said something on Schiano he is.

Or Peyton's accuser has mental health issues, and McQueary's testimony was under oath?

Correct, maxxx.

Outside East Tennessee the great majority of sports fans will view this fiasco much differently than some prejudiced homers. It's on Clay Travis, prejudiced fans and state legislators.

Oh thats what it is. Yeah right on buddy, McQuearys testimony was so believable that the DA in the criminal trial said it was uncredible that what Bradley told McQueary about Schiano. Yet in an insurance claim trial where burden of proof is going to be much less have at it. If i remember correctly under oath Bill Clinton said "I didnt have sexual relations with that woman" So no no one would lie under oath

Guess you're another that can't take 2 minutes of time to do a google search.

Please stop making totaled look foolish and read a little bit about what happened and when it happened. He was hired at ALL of the jobs before McCreary's testimony. But don't let silly stuff like facts get in the way.
