Some UT "fans" are total pieces of poop

How about the fact the he is a lifetime .500 coach (68-67 at Rutgers) and the fact that he was an absolute bust in the NFL. Not to mention the amount of stories about him being a cancer in the locker room and his treatment of players. We fire one mediocre coach to turn around and to try and hire another?!! Really?!! I'm tired of the mediocrity, it's the freaking University of Tennessee not Middle Tennessee State. #GoVols #SchiaNO
Hey..No need to drag MTSU into UT's poo-storm!

Thank you. His coaching record sucked. Sure you could say "but it was Rutgers", we heard the same crap about Dooley and La Tech. We wanted Butch fired because the team deserves better not more of the same.

The fans saved the program from this disaster of a hire. He was unemployed was fired from the Bucs.

The only person that wanted to hire him at the time was Jimmy Haslam:
Cleveland Browns Rumors: Jimmy Haslam liked Greg Schiano, Joe Banner didn't

He was hired at OSU before the testimony linking him the the Sandusky case was made public. Even then, he had been unemployed for 3 years because most ADs are smart enough to avoid the potential hidden hazards of hiring people that worked at PSU during the Sandusky era.

UT athletics will be the Cleveland Browns of the college sports world until the Haslams are forced to butt out.

That's right. Total pieces of $h^&. All this nonsense seems to have been brought on purposely by fans. No one at UT gives a rats a$$ about what that guy was doing at Penn St. He has been a head coach at two major programs in college, a head coach in the NFL, and now a DC at Ohio St. If he had a role in the Penn St scandal it would have effected is position at one of his previous stops. Awfully convenient that UT fans dont like the choice, now all of sudden he is at the heart of the Penn St scandal. What a joke. Unreal.

Yep, we did that. And damn proud of it too.

You and Schiano are the pieces of poop.

Schiano, on 3 different occasions in the NFl, ordered players to dive at the knees of the opponents during victory formation.

Aannnddd... publicly outed a player in rehab for personal benefit.
Schiano is an absolute horrible human being from top to bottom, not even including the Penn State mess. And Op, if you support that, then so are you. Period.

I love the devil's advocate role. I didn't want Schiano but no so much the PState stuff as his reputation from former players. I hope there was no one on here complaining about the probable hire, that also complained about the girl charging AJ Johnson and the "supposed" text messages. Many on here were convinced she was not a victim. On the other hand, there were probably only 10K different people on VN complaining. Ten thousand is not an over whelming % of fans. Currie still could have moved ahead if he thought he had the right guy.

Then why don't you follow "Chester" back to Columbus. As a matter of fact, take these same comments down in front of Neyland tomorrow morning with your soap box and see how the local pieces of S@!t appreciates your view point.

Go Vols! #notmycoach #notinmycity

If you search really hard before today, you can find a few positive pieces on schiano but not many. He was almost universally despised by former players, scouts and reporters. That's without factoring in the accusations against him. Currie literally could've found this in five seconds of research.

Dude! your avi is really creeping me out, especially in light of all this Sandusky talk!

Maybe it's because Schiano was hired in 2015 by Ohio State, and the stuff about him in Sandusky came out in 2016.

AND. He still has his job at OSU. If it was that big of a deal then OSU fans and groups would have for sure protested him out of town by now.

Well some of us believe people like you are what is wrong with this country today.

Anyone has the right to want or not want someone to coach their favorite team or a coach at their school. Fans have the right to think for themselves and to dislike someone because of any situation. No one knows exactly what happened.........but we dont have to except this guy if we dont want to..........simply because it may have happened......or for any other reason.

Now days if your not liberal, and dont believe what they do, or think how they do........you are the devil. And that is how any democratic society crumbles (not by liberals...as they can think how they want...but by people, media, and government trying to dictate how others should think).

People not from Tennessee, and the media can bash us all they/you want; however fans have the right to express their opinion and at least in this case get something changed.

Every time people take to the streets to protest ANYTHING under the sun......most media talk like they are the most awesome people......trying to enact change (and most of the time they are really doing nothing).......but when people from Tennessee (southern, mostly conservitive) do it............we should be ashamed of ourselves.......go figure.

Good post.

I wont say that I liked the thought of hiring the guy, so its not a big deal there. I dont like that so many people waited until the guy was going to be announce before standing on there soapboxes. If he was such a bad guy and volnation knew all of this, why not raise these questions over the past few weeks that his name was mentioned as a candidate? Currie should have know the public opinion on this guy weeks ago, not a couple of hours before signing him.

Also on another note

How many "pieces of poop" fan bases has anyone EVER seen take to social media, take to the streets (campus), call lawmakers.......and get something like this accomplished?

Tennessee fans are the greatest. Even if you liked the hire.......you have to like how most of us stood togather, made our voices heard......and actually got something done.

Never once said i supported the guy. Just bush league of the fans to not voice there concerns until now. Especially, if they felt so strong about this guy being totally not hireable by UT.
