I got no dog in this race but just to be clear;
Most people accusing Reader(and Sjt) of being arrogant are only doing so because they are let's just say on the "not so smart" faction of this board. Of course they are gonna get bent.
Concerning to me is how many smarter people specifically only attack these type of posters but continually allow and apologize for the liquor laden buffoonery that fills this board up.
To satisfy ReaderVol's request, here are just a few little examples of the kind of self-righteous, condescending poster he truly is. Enjoy.
"A fan who respects our school, and program and will defend it against trashy assed "fans".
No need for assaulting someone's intelligence, Reader:
"Really? Won win?
I'd say show some class to the players but by reading your brilliant post I doubt you even know what that means."
No one is as smart as ReaderVol:
"You have no clue on so many levels. LOL"
I guess he was upset that his beautiful piece of work got deleted:
"The admin deleted it. I guess it was so nice they couldn't stand it"
Nice try but HUGE fail. I stated that I defy you or KB to show where I stated he or anyone is isn't a "true Vol" or that I stated "you suck". And as I as always you can't find it.
Did I make those statements? Damn right but each of those were in response to bashing of either a player, the program or the coaches. And I most definitely have no problem admitting that. You bash UT and I will defend. Call me crazy but I kind of like UT....
It's okay man, I'm used to seeing you tell everyone how much they suck and fail and "LOL" about it. I just wanted to show everyone just a little snippet of the quality (or lack thereof) of the type of guy you come across as. Believe it or not, one can still love UT with every fiber in their being and still hold the coaches accountable.
Blair thread is gone and I didn't feel like digging up the Josh Smith stuff so here is a small sample from the recent North thread.
Raise your hand if you have played college sports. Now keep your hand up if you have ripped on a player for being injured or dropped a ball while giving maximum effort.
...NOT too many hands left up. The messsage board 5*'s can take the field against GA, AL, FL next year and we'll see if they change their perspective on effort and talent.
"Stupid decision. He's going to struggle to make a practice squad"
"He should atleast put together a highlight video of him sitting on the bench or in the rehab facility to better his chances of getting drafted.
He won't make it to the end of this next season"
"Only chance this kid has making a roster is if the entire players go on strike or something. North has to be the most disappointed player in the history of Tenn Football. All hype, barely little game."
"North must have rocks in his head. Or his "advisors" do. He is not even a good college WR. Oh well, this team is better without him."
"Move on. Next up. Another over rated Vol bites the dust."
"Look like tarzan, play like jane."
24 year old OBJ is still a kid according to Ray Lewis. I have a 2 year old a house and been married for 4.5 years anf just turned 25. No idea I'm just 3 months removed from stilll being a kid.
I agree, we do have a dumb fan base:
We sit on our hands until 3rd down(why not get loud on 1st and 2nd?).
We can't even figure out when to stand it sit, it's simple, don't be a Jackwagon about it.
Is it too much to ask: Can you wear orange to the game? Or white? Or black? Or gray? Or pink?(ladies) Or some sort of Vol clothes?
Handle you alcohol.
Some bash players for not being very good (bash a player for not giving their all), don't bash for not being very good at football,(they are all better, than all of you and me).
Since I'm telling the truth:
Don't bash the players, it is a form of cyber-bullying, I remember it hurting one player's feelings. So stop being mean to the players, they may talk top recruits from being a VFL, due to a negative experience while on the Hill. And probably wouldn't want to send their kids to the Hill, or come back and coach.
Believe it or not we will win games and we will lose games, as long as they are giving their all that is all any fan can expect can expect from the players.
If they just aren't good enough, that's on the coaches. And that's another whole ball of wax.
If you are going to post about a player, the least you could do is act like they might see what you post and won't think you are a big Jackwagon, for what you post. They may think my post are irrelevant, but they won't think I'm a Jackwagon for what I say, unless they get offended by me running down other programs, I will do that, and if they don't like it, convince me why I should stop.
And just because other fan bases are a bunch of jackwagons doesn't mean, that the Vol fan base has to be a bunch of jackwagons.
I will give my all for Tennessee today!
Go Vols!
Bashing a player is wrong.
Bashing a coach is an indicator of a lack of class.
Bashing other posters for thier stupid opinions is the nature of a message board.
Here at Volnation we have an opportunity to be like no other message board(fan base). We can have in depth discussions of ways to improve our game day experiences. Like, if you have never been to the O&W game it's worth going. Get there early and you can interact with the players and coaches, for the young fans it can be cool to really see how big some of these guys are, I'm 5'9" so when I stand next to a dude that that is 6'4" pushing 320 and he is not fat, that can make an impression on a youngster. My older son had a player come to his school and talk to his 3rd grade class, I will never forget the discription "he was a monster", and that was a compliment.
Never mind, I would rather tell all the jackwagons to go fly a kite.
Go Vols!
