So let's talk Kentucky

Trust me this game will be much closer.

Same thing was said about the Utah State game. CBJ is not going to overlook UK. If we were playing UK this week, I would be worried. However with a bye week and the game being at home, UT will pull away in the second half.

Wow tell y'all what, if you're felling down , go read the UK message boards, very depressing, most of them don't feel confident for any game, most saying UT is their second hardest remaining opponent , with the last 3 hardest to easiest 1UGA 2 UT 3 Lville, they hate Lville like we hate everyone else in the sec!

They bring up a lot stats vs UT, and think their qb is the only NFL qb in the sec,

Tbh, UK is our tougher of 3 remaining opponents, they way the played UF and Miss State show they can hang with the best and play hard away, but I'm still picking our revived Offense to score a good bit and take advantage of their weak secondary. Go Vols.

The coach name of Stoops has made some good players want to go to kenSucky as has early playing time and their belief that Stoops can get them into the NFL.

They're much better than most on here want to believe so it's going to be another really tough game.

I won't be surprised if we get the WIN on another fieldgoal.

This will be no cake walk for the Vols by any means. Kentucky has their fair share of issues, don't get me wrong, but they have some explosive young talent that we aren't accustomed to seeing out of the big blue. They will need to play sound, mistake free ball, in all three phases, in order to have a chance. But if they do that, this one could go down to the wire. So glad it's in Neyland this year, cause that young UK roster has never seen 102,455 raging lunatics all decked out in orange.

We got a little while before our next game, and I have to confess I haven't really gotten much of a chance to watch KY play this year. I know this weekend against UGA will tell us a lot about them, but all I really know is their QB is legit and they have a Great Value generic knockoff-brand Jalen Hurd named "Braylon Heard."

So what's good about KY? What's bad? How is their run defense? How is their O-line? Should we expect Barnett and company to live in their backfield? How are their receivers? Do they have weapons to stop Dobbs and our WR corp? What are the strong and weak points of this team?

TIA

Kentucky? They almost beat Florida and now there a dynasty. Kentucky? They've beat us once in 30 years.
Kentucky? Keenland is awesome (spell check on Keenland).

All you need to know is we better be ready to play. They will be bringing it and would like nothing better than to ruin our day. Better believe it.
That being said we should have enough to win. It may come down to a field goal...seriously.

GO VOLS!

I'd love to put a buTch-slapping on them but as long as we get the WIN and move on towards a bowl game then I'll take it!

I'm a little worried as well, but yesterday I heard a crazy stat. Kentucky hasn't won a SEC game outside of Kentucky since like 2007 (maybe it was 2009, cant' remember. Either way, a long aZZ time).

Historically UK has played us closer than many will admit. Number one we have to protect the football. Dobbs has played stupendous but he has had turnovers. Number 2 our line needs to get more pressure earlier in the games so our zone can hold up. What I saw against USC was too much time for the QB more than too little coverage although we had gaps in coverage too. This is a fairly even game but home field should win the day.

2009.

They won at Auburn, at Vanderbilt, and at UGA.

I may be in the minority here and I am stoked we won that USC game but IMO our coaches need to make better adjustments earlier in games. If we do something like kick in ill advised winds or attempt to run up the gut for 3 and short when it has not worked previously then you can't keep expecting to win. It was a great win last week but I am hopeful the coaches learned enough about their team and what they are good at under Dobbs to maximize against these upcoming opponents.

You are not in the Minority brother.. This bye week came just in time IMO. Get healthy and get in the film room to take a look at past weeks to see what worked for us / what didn't . Need to win out and get to that ever elusive Bowl Game.
