So after watching the Butler

Actually... since you are trying to be technical... you are WRONG.

"Mason Dixon" (GEOGRAPHICAL)= 39° 43′ 19.92216″ N

Sorry, but Indianapolis is North of this...

And since we are really talking about the cultural line - with that brilliant University of Tennessee education, you should know that Indiana was always considered a North state.

Correction... Indiana was always considered an insignificant state.

hey teacher, I ain't got no fancy UT edjucation but even I knows the M-D line ain't a single point on th' map. I's also knows th' word below can mean serval thangs. Maybe since I were edjucated up in the Federals lands, I unnerstand that. What's yore 'scuse?

Indianapolis is 39 46. Not exactly a lot of separation there. I imagine the Southern border of the city is more in line with realUT's take on the matter.

How does it feel to get sent packing in the NCAA tournament by a team from a university 'only known for football' as your signature puts it?

Of course, being 'known' for anything would be a start for Bultler. Tonight could be your big start on that. You're now known as the team the Vols sent packing.

Do a little more research buddy...
Mason-Dixon line - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You are looking as intelligent as that grammar that you were using there...

First off, Wikipedia is a source for middle-schoolers. Secondly, from your own "source":

"The Maryland–Pennsylvania boundary is an east-west line with an approximate mean latitude of 39° 43' 20" N (Datum WGS 84). In reality, the east-west Mason-Dixon line is not a true line in the geometric sense, but is instead a series of many adjoining lines"

Way to contradict yourself. Why don't you go grab your Butler degree and use it to clean your rectum? It'll do more good that way.

here's the problem with that: I don't give a rat's arse about the M-D line. Change the topic all you'd like, but your small conference, shoddy schedule playing squad needed to win today for some respect and national relevance. That didn't work out and now it's back to obscurity and screaming for some attention. Given your departures after this season, I'll expect to hear from you again in about 15 years when you're again griping about a 10 seed.

If you'll go back to my poor grammar laced post, tell me something that's incorrect there.

I like how he told us we'd all use tired arguments about Butler being a small school or not having great athletes. Then he comes and brings these embarrassingly unoriginal insults.

On Saturday, these trolls wanted to yammer about their basketball brilliance...now that their season's over, geography and grammar are the topics du jour.

I'll be glad when the Louisville fans get to the board. It'll be fun to interact with fans from a school with a real basketball tradition.

So are you justifying someone joking about Butler being "the Great White Hype?"?

I just wonder how it would be received if someone referred to Tennessee as something that pointed out your predominantly black roster?

Great stuff coming from below the Mason-Dixon line...

 sad

Great point.

Also, where were the American University fans? Do these teams have a consilidated board for 'my school is not listed' or what?

Sorry, but even Butler has a greater basketball tradition than Tennessee...

Have fun with Louisville, even though I imagine that you'll win.

That's for sure. Bye bye Mr. Bulldogswin dude..

There were a couple of them over here last week. Each of those posters had more class in a toenail than this loser has in his entire body.

I wouldn't be so sure. They aren't pushovers unlike some other schools. You know, like a school that has the most unoriginal mascot in the nation. A school that starts with a B. Ends with an -utler. Sucks at basketball. Ringing any bells?

Why name a university Butler? I mean how would they know from the onset that the best their graduates could do would be to serve others.

At least, 'American' had a sense of pride from the onset.

At least this guy will not have to update his Sweet 16 years on his avatar. That's a done deal.

being located in Indiana does not qualify as tradition, but I hate discussions about tradition. I'm about the here and now. Butler is a decent mid major. Congrats. Butler is now finished for this season because they lost a game that you incoorectly told us they would win. Your tradition, for now, bought you a front row seat at the local BW3 for the remainder of the tourney.

Sorry to bring his argument back up, but there are a couple significant points no one has mentioned.

1. TN is split into 3 parts: East, Middle, West.
2. East TN voted NOT to secceed from the Union.
3. Knoxville, home to the Vols, is in East TN.

"secede," Berry4Heisman(much to early for that) .... but useful points. I don't expect that this will matter much to irrational posters, though.

Try something other than Wikipedia. The Mason-Dixon line is the border between Pennsylvania and Maryland. Look at a map, find the absolute lowest point on that border (which would be the very edge of the western border), and then look over to see where Indy is. I will save the suspense for you...Below the Mason-Dixon Line!

You sure represent the History and Geography Departments at Butler very well.
