The only reason for him leaving IMO would be:
A) he thinks Smart is difficult to work with.
Or
B)he thinks he can make more money at Tennessee.

I imagine he kicks the tires on other offers but ends up resigning with Georgia

I honestly cannot seem to find a single reason we have not made a hire yet. I have never seen a program manage to F up stuff quite like us. We are literally the laughing stock of the NCAA. Thank God we don't suck at basketball.

Come on now. Neither you, nor I, nor 99.9% of us have any idea what is going on in this situation--or why. So, similarly, not one of us can have any idea whether or not it is messed up or what the appropriate timing should be. Moreover, we aren't "literally the laughing stock of the NCAA" --no one outside of UT's most impatient fans know or care whether we have a coaching vacancy on our beloved, but, currently, highly irrelevant football team. "The NCAA" doesn't care about us.

This situation will ultimately be resolved and the only person who matters right now is the head coach. He needs to get the person he wants, and, again, none of us are likely to have a clue as to who that is. I know we won't agree, but I think everything's gonna be alright.

We do agree that "we don't suck at basketball!" GBO!

Lulz, it is crazy. I'm not sure its really dysfunctional though, I mean maybe it just seems that way. For all we know its going exactly the way they planned.

It's only "dysfunctional" because no real information is leaking and some sect of VolNation is taking every speculative tweet that twitters and running with it, especially if it supports their particular narrative.

We aren't nearly as important as we like to think we are. No one else cares that we haven't hired an assistant coach. What percentage of the people on VN do you think could even name half the OCs in the SEC for a hundred dollars? I just tried it. I couldn't do it, and I watch a LOT of college football. I watch every SEC game that I have an opportunity to watch.

Anytime its brought up on a coaching blunder we are the butt of the joke. The bad thing is its not just football. Outside of this years mens BB team , and the Monica Abbot Softball teams I cannot think of any other sport we were even in the talks of making a NC run.

Who specifically is laughing? I know a ton of UGA fans and they weren't even aware UT needed an OC until the Chaney rumors started. UT has not made a hire because the man in charge hasn't made a hire yet. That's the only reason you need.

Mike Griffith says Chaney's contracts runs through 2021. Im sure UT & Pruitt knows this but man if we whiff on him might as well promote Friend & end my refreshing
