Snubbed!!!

Beat 2 #1 seeds.... Played Purdue to one point... Won 25 games... And we get bent over.... I don't get it... Oh, well, it is what it is... I could have seen a 5 seed, but not a 6.... Not sayn we are world beaters, but a 6 is just wrong...

Um Lets look at our record again. Yes we beat 2 #1 seeds, but 1 #1 seed just beat us by 30. We had 2 bad losses to UGA and Florida. We were swept by Vanderbilt. Oh and lets not forget our early season loss to USC. Our losses this year were pretty much ugly excluding the Perdue and the UK game, but all the other losses, we were just outplayed. A #6 seed is very appropriate for our team. Lets just get to the 2nd weekend.

I Agree, also

USC lost by 22

Vandy lost by 29

Florida lost by 13

Kentucky lost by 29

We can blame the seeding on these 3 road (1 Nuetral) losses. I think we were a 4-5 but u can't argue. No 4-5 seeds lost by 30 yesterday....JMO

The "Neutral" game was basically a home game for the Blue Team.

We got what we deserved, IMO. Bad conference for B-Ball this year, and only 1 good team from our conference in the tournament. This season is an overall bad year for college B-Ball, IMO. That being said, I don't see KY getting past the Elite 8, IMO.

Good post. UT will have a hard road to the Final Four.

Lets see what they do.

Go Vols.

Final Four? My God, a road that we will not travel, in our best of dreams. This group has not the talent, heart, nor will, to even begin that trek. Sorry. Over-rated, (clap, clap, clapclapclap) over-rated.

Who is beating them?

Wins over the top 2 ranked teams in the country aren't flukes.

59-49 against LSU and 74-45 against UK probably cost us at least one slot after the SEC tourney....

It's a shame that this can't be like it was in the late 90's(forget what exact year) that the regional finals can't be held here in Knoxville.:)

I personallly kind of like the match ups. This team tends to rise up with thre backs against the wall and underdogs. If they get past San Diego St.. Georgetown and Ohio St. both aren't very deep. (Think the Hoyas play 6?) So we won't be gettin worn down. JMO though.

Who's fault is that?

And even if that's true, 29 points is 29 points.

I think the worst "snub" of the year was Kevin Stallings over Pearl for COY (knowing Cal wouldn't get it).

Pearl overcame more and did more with less than Vandy's coach.

I can see 4 or possibly 5 teams beating them in their bracket by the Sweet 16. Texas has the guns to beat them in the second round, IMO.

In Texas's last 16 games, they LOST 9 of them.....

Texas is not the type of team that works well against UK. They don't shoot very well, they don't protect the ball....they don't rebound all that well...they take really bad shots which is deadly with UK's rebounding and transition game.

Wisconsin has the type of team that could beat UK. If you want UK to go down, that's the team to root for.

So, your telling me that a team that started 17-0 can't matchup to KY?? Texas is a young team, and therefore can be dangerous if they get on a roll. Texas was the #7 team in the nation in scoring, so they can shot with the best of them.

Nope, I never said they CAN'T matchup to UK....or any other top team.... I'm saying there is no reason to think they could since they have pooped the bed CONSISTENTLY in the past 16 games.

And even if they were playing well, they still are not the TYPE of team that gives UK fits.... Wisconsin IS.

Oh, and Texas is 2nd in the nation in rebounding. Just figured I would throw that out there.

Texas isn't horrible....I was comparing them to UK......Don't let numbers fool you... look at efficiency.

Texas plays VERY fast. They shoot a lot of shots and miss a lot. They are 15th in the nation in offensive rebounding....UK is 7th despite playing a slower pace.

Damien James gets about 10 boards a game from the 3 spot...... He's the one player that can kill you on the boards. Other than him, nobody else on UT gets even 6 boards a game. Cousins kills the boards and his average is low due to less playing time early in the year due to foul trouble.

UT rebounded better early in the season, but has been nowhere near as dominant on the boards lately....something happened to that team. They AVERAGE 42 boards a game on the season, but in their past 6 games, they have had less than 26 boards 3 times and only hit their average against mighty Iowa St. In the final 10 games, they only hit their season average THREE times....

Lack of rebounding has been a BIG part of why they went 7-9 to end their season.....they have been much worse of late rebounding the ball.....

UK has all the talent the world, but I have seen many flashes of their inexperience that will cost them a trip to the final four. Also, when UK isn't shooting the three-ball well, opponents can control the tempo against them. And remember, UK will not be accustomed to the rims that they'll be playing on which will expose their inability to hit the 3 ball consistently.

Thanks,
SV
