Snubbed!!!

I know this has little place here, but wow it must really suck to be a Miss State fan right now...

Miss St made its bed by losing to Rider at home, Richmond and WKU on the road..... and scheduling such a weak OOC schedule. Their key wins are against Vandy and ODU...They also only won 3 road games in the SEC.... all that matters.

Still, I think they are a better team than some other bubbles that got in, but they didn't do the work.

not against your anger

but obviously, if we're a 6 now, we weren't a 4 seed before the SEC tourney

Yeah, I'm saying that there's no logic behind having us that low to begin with. It's simply nonsensical when you take into account our ranking, RPI, SOS, and some of the teams we beat this year.

Oh well, you take the hand you're dealt and roll with it. The team can either sulk and feel sorry for themselves, or they can go out and win some basketball games.

I hope this lights a fire under someone's arse in Knoxville.

Two points:

Obviously the NCAA has no respect for Tennesee. The only way to get that respect is to go out and win your games and advance.

This is the fifth year Tennessee is in the tournament.

All Tennessee needs to do is beat their teams in their bracket. Then Tennesse will have earned the right to tell the NCAA where they can stick it.

I think blowout loses at pathetic USC, at Vandy, in the SEC tournament, at a pathetic UGA gave the committee reason to not trust what we bring. They chose the potential to lay an egg over confidence we'd compete against anyone. I don't have a problem with that based on those 4 really bad loses.

We're in - just go win and give us a thrill ride.
<< BOV29 - just saw you already covered this >>
Dont you think wins over two 1 seeds over powers it.

Face it, guys. Today, after the Ky. ref and God-given miracle win over Mississippi State, it looks like the Vols have simply been over-rated, probably all season. Without Chism, this group is CLUELESS. We will be one/two and done. Sad. Pearl has done a great job coaching this bunch, but they can be the biggest no-shows that I have ever seen, starting with Scotty Hobson. This kid still looks lost, most of the time. Over-rated, big time. Can't wait for spring practice.

For me, for the most part. But clearly it didn't impress the committee. I think they see us as just to volatile.

Personally, I thought we'd be a 5 - but I am just a stereotypical fan. Heck, I had Purdue falling to a 6 based on how I think they will perform in the tournament.

I thought we were a lock for a five, but I just get the feeling that the committee is getting payback for a couple of years ago when we got the 2 seed and the national media cried about how ridiculous that seed was.

Yeah, in addition to worrying about getting all the right teams in this year, the committee also factored in a supposed bad seeding from a few years ago.

Right.

Are we out of favor because we didn't get to the elite eight when we were gifted with a 2 seed in 2008?

The issue I think is that we've looked pretty lackluster at times, in retrospect didn't have a good enough record against the top 50) and we may now be a touch gimpy (Chism & Williams).

We just got raped by the committee!!!!!!!!!!!I cant believe my eyes.:angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

Our body of work deserved a better seed than #6 but when u look at it we're probably not one of the top 30-35 teams in the tournament. We have overachieved more than any year I can remember.. We have M. Goins & S. Pearl playing meaningful min the committee probably doesnt think we're very good and actually there right. We're one and done most likely but I hope I'm wrong...

I sure hope Bruce plays our starters 32+ min I mean our bench is AWFUL we have no prayer w/ SP & MG playing min. Those guys are hard to watch Bruce let your best players play its your only shot. SP playing 20 min won't cut it...

We are a top 30-35 team, to think otherwise is foolish.

Another thing, responding to the comment about being clueless without Chism, is the head-nodding celebration displayed by some of our guys, particularly Prince, who is good at times but has holes in his game, and Hopson, who is feeble mentally. This kind of thing rubs critics the wrong way. You gotta really be good if you're gonna go around chest thumping and not prub folks the wrong way. So, I agree that with Chism gimpy, the committee could doubt us.

This is now three straight years we have been seeded low by NCAA after getting the number 2 (better than expected) in Pearl's first year and about right second year. Based upon our entire body of work including the last KY disaster Vols deserved a 4 seed. It will be extremely difficult just to make the sweet 16 in our bracket. Our team three years ago is the only team in NCAA history to have the #1 RPI and not be a number 1 seed.
