Does anyone else think that Saturday Night Live is hard to watch these days? They don't even look at one another during the skits, they're looking directly at the cue cards. It's pretty lame.

I disagree. If it was on tonight I didn't see it but the more recent episodes have been better than it was for a good while there. Andy Samberg is great. The Peyton Manning episode last season was great and the Lebron James one at the very beginning of this season was great too. There haven't been a lot of solid full episodes but there have been a lot of great individual skits.

I watched some of the one tonight, it was pretty good at times. it just kills me seeing them stare off stage to see their lines.

I need to remember to watch. I haven't watched in a long time but I've always been a fan.

Seth Myers is without a doubt the least funny human on the planet. Amy Poehler is the least funny female. Those two, along with Tina Fey, would do well to quit laughing at their own jokes. A more entertaining show would be me punching Myers in the face for 90 minutes.

Kristen Wiig is the only reason to watch & the Sandberg digital shorts are usually pretty good, but man I watched the first minute or two and they just want to force Hillary down the people's throats.

He's also the head writer. So that may be a contributing factor in that SNL is on a down peroid right now. It largely sucks imo. Worst it's been in years.

They have some good players, but the writing is terrible. They've gotten lazy. They do FAR too much political/entertainment satire now. They need to get back to coming up with good original skits and good recurring characters.

Christopher Walken is hilarious. However, back in the day they could pull in anyone to host and make a great show.

She wasn't doing much to make the show any better. When she was running Weekend Update she used to high-five her co-anchor to celebrate her jokes. It was pathetic.

What is the big deal about Tina Fey? I just don't get it. She's not funny, and she comes across as having a "I'm smarter than you" attitude, especially when it comes to politics.

She became a writer in 97, and head writer in 99 until she left after the 05 season I think.

I realize that, but some in the media just act like she's hilarious. Maybe if I put on glasses and cut down Bush every 30 seconds I can get my own show on NBC.

Couldn't agree more....I tried to watch it a few weeks ago after the strike, thinking that it would be fresh and funny again with all of the presidential campaign antics that had been taking place and I was, yet again, sorely disappointed. IMO, nothing today compares to the days of Dana Carvey, Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, David Spade, and Mike Myers. Seems like the Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon days were the last seasons that I could really watch. It's just gone downhill since. (Except for yes, Cincy Vol, Peyton's guest star appearance show. That was definitely one of my fav's yet -- and again, he was a guest, not a regular of an otherwise unlaughable season.)

Did you watch any episode of her on SNL? Especially when she did the weekend update? That was mainly it, and no it wasn't cause it was "my" guy. Brilliant observation. Notice they they can't poke fun at Obama anymore though.

They make fun of all Presidents, Clinton got his share especially after the Lewinsky scandal.They do make fun of Obama and I have yet to see them make fun of McCain so I think they are more than fair on the political satire. Dickens, you said the show was terrible so do you watch a show you think is terrible or not? If you do than that is strange and if you don't than how do you know so much about it? The news update hits on a lot of stories not just 'Bush' stories and I would contest the "every 30 seconds" claim, not the claim that they did make fun of Bush. It didn't take a "brilliant" observation to state the obvious so i do understand your sarcasm. When did they stop making fun of Obama? Are you saying that after 1 episode because they did last week.
