Good point, Downtown. PP won't be open before the game. We could all meet at DG&B or wait until after the game and congregate at the Pres Pub.

I could have sworn he said next season, thus, this season's stats are almost meaningless for this discussion, except when you look to see how easy it will be for Smith to be better than Beverly next year.

Yeah, true, you cannot look to this years stats to gauge the future.

Generally it is good to back up your points with facts or rationale why you think that way. I guess I just will have to easily see how Smith will be better, 'cause the stats don't line up.

I'm a huge stats guy, so understand that I appreciate your use. However, in this specific discussion, you're throwing out the chance that Smith will be better than Beverly due to stats in February of 2007. It was a prediction from a poster, so obviously he thinks Smith will score more next season.

Smith and Beverly have two very different games and Beverly is almost always going to score more because of team needs and his skill set. Comparing the two statistically is a little like trying to compare Marbury and Kidd. I live in Fayetteville and get to most home games, so I've seen a lot of Beverly and like his game, but I wouldn't even consider trading Smith for him. While I'm down on Ramar a bit because I think his FT shooting makes him a liability at crunch time (the out of control, poor decision thing will work itself out with coaching, time and trust of teammates), his ability to break down Ds will make him and our big men much better players over time.

Both players are going to be horses in the SEC, just running different types of races.

Bradshaw has always been a poor outside shooter, injury or not. He is shooting the 3's attempting to spread the defense out and open up driving lanes. The only problem is after you miss as many as he has you are not opening up lanes because even when he goes to pull the trigger they still do not step up to guard him. They just sit back clogging the lane going "thank goodness we got Bradshaw to shoot outside, now go grab the rebound."

IMO: Lofton, JaJuan, and incredibly, Jordan Howell should have the green light.

Ramar has the yellow light: only take the shot if it's a good look, but if he's feeling it, take it.

Childress, Chism, Tabb and Bradshaw should only shoot 3's in emergency situations (shot clock running down, trying to come back at the end of a game, etc.)

(and yes, I know that each of those last four have knocked down a couple here and there, but you gotta play the percentages.)

I was gonna add that we should take shots that we expect to make, but then half the team would have to avoid FTs.
