Sick of the haters

To all those that think I wanted to keep Butch.

Are you CRAZY? The point is... if they aren't getting the job done, winning, the they need to be replaced or in the case of QB at least give other QBs a try. It's not like it can get much worse.

We're all sick of losing, sick of being irrelevant, sick of being an SEC-East doormat, sick of watching teams like UK be in the top 10, and sick of having to look at a rusted out stadium every time we attend a game. So, we get on VN and complain because we don't have any other way to voice our frustration. I try not take that attitude, but I can't fault my VN brothers and sisters when they do.

Rusted out stadium?

Well if D4H (?) bets on the Vols with JG at QB then he's losing his shirt, his car and probably his home.

You're the internet version of what used to be called a drummer. Back in the old west, they would travel from town to town, set up shop, bang a drum to attract attention and then try to peddle their CRAP snake oil to anyone dumb enough to buy it.

Defense would help.

Look at the scores in football today and tell me how many games are there with low scores?
We scored 21 against probably the best team in football in decades. It's no longer a defensive game
and the team that scores the most wins. A QB that gets the job done and who can act like a leader can make the difference.

Look I loved the days when the Bears ran over teams with their Defense but those days are gone. The rules favor the offense and that is what wins games.

Fyp . Go pull for Alabama. No one wants to hear your pessimism.

Turning a blind eye to things isn't going to make them better.
Maybe we should talk about unicorns and rainbows.
Would that make you feel better about our team?
Besides no one forces you to read comments, do they?

Bottom line is, if you aren't winning make some changes.
Can anyone tell me what changes Pruitt has made other than listing (not playing) Banks on defense for one game and then switching him back after he assures us that it was Bank's choice to switch????

so, apparently you don't get any enjoyment at all?...so sad...well, good luck with that...and, as always...

GO VOLS!

I enjoy watching UT play and I pull for the team, the good the bad and the ugly, but to not question things when we are losing is like living in a communist country and being told to shut up, watch the game and celebrate the outcome... period.

I'm guessing that you are easy to shop for.

Rusted out stadium?

Yeah, we're season ticket holders and we like to get to games early enough to walk the campus as well as around the stadium to take in fans from the visiting team. If you look at the steel framework around the stadium (inside and out), as well as some of the banisters in the seating areas in both top and lower levels, a lot of those areas are rusting out with paint peeling away and blooming. It really looks bad.

We couldn't make it to the game today because a relative is having some health issues, so we gave our tickets to some young Vol-fan friends who just got married.

So you aren't buying into Winning? You are happy with Losing?
Maybe winning and losing doesn't matter to you just that JB gets to play all the time and we never have to see the other QBs so as not to make JG look bad or you feel bad?

If I have an agenda it would be take a better look at the other QBs and see if what we currently have on the field is getting the job done. And the JOB is winning.

If we all agree with you is that common core type stuff too?

And you always seem to assume every hater thread is directed toward you. If you’re already supporting the team, then I’d have to assume he’s not referring to you.
It's not so much the threads, it's the millennial definition of hate. It's like 79 said, disagreement = hate now. There is no discourse or discussion, it's agree with us about JG or you hate him. Agree with us about Josh Dobbs' super potential NFL career or you hate him. Want to see KC get a chance to start a game and see what he can do....you are a JG hater. It's the bastion of the weak minded.

No doubt. Some still believe the future is bright. I don’t know if it is or not, but we do only have a few seniors. I like some of the things I’ve seen from Pruitt and I believe he’s driven. This staff has a lot of experience and has won a lot of meaningful games elsewhere.

Regardless the November stretch is going to be interesting.
I believe the future is bright. It's just that, the future. If we are playing JG because he is the best, then we need to be signing a QB next year. If we are playing JG because we don't want him to transfer, well, we did that. But he isn't winning or showing signs of improvement that someone with 3 years in the program should. I agree the OL is not where it should be, but proper placement of the backs to pick up blitzes and calling the defensive sets for the line to block isn't stuff that should take 3 years to learn. We aren't seeing offense on the field because the playbook is still limited. Last week was a prime example of what a limited playbook looks like.

Nope I gots my Giles county edgimicat...ion long before 2+2=5.

I dont assume they are directed at me...just a general comment on why people that dont like negativity create threads that are certain to bring it. Nobody really answers it though.
But 2 + 2 does equal 5 for exceptionally large values of 2.

Great summary. While I may disagree with other's opinions, positions, or posts, I truly appreciate it when someone forces me to think outside my comfort zone.

By the way, love the play on words to the Captain & Tennille reference in your tag-line.

The best part of these threads is watching the self proclaimed geniuses who lectured everyone about how great dooley and jones were back at it agian. Acting like their soooo much smarter yet they have been wrong for ten years and never owned it! But hey a blind squirrel and all...
P.s. they are the ones insulting the op because is opinion is different than theirs!

Yes.

Unless they have the 85 Bears defense then yes the quarterback is the heart of the offense and an offense that can score is hard to beat. Look at scores today there aren't very many 10 to 7 games are there?

So glad you responded that way. So can you please explain why we couldnt win more games in 2012 with elite QB play? Also, since you love to use NFL references, last years Super Bowl, was it Foles that got the strip sack to ice the game?

Metaphor much?

I'm going to give you the benefit of doubt and say you're a troll. Even on the off chance you're right in your argument I can't imagine you being so DENSE that you don't realize what an insufferable A$$ you're being by crapping in literally every thread you enter.

You have fun being you.... Peace.

No way to know how good JG can be - or if he isn't that good. O-line play (and a lot of other aspects of the game) have been so bad that judgment on our QB is difficult, if not impossible.

What I hate is watching a not very good South Carolina team win again today after we should have beaten them last week. A golden opportunity wasted. Need to pick it up over the rest of the season.

Some of us are not hating we just expect improvement. The play calling is and has been horrible..... Even worse than last year.....

Tackles for loss we are averaging 8.13 tackles for loss per game...

We were 120 of 129 LAST year at 7.42 per game... And that was SUPPOSED to be the bottom but guess not....

Play calling has been bad this game no doubt. I don’t get why we’re so conservative. You would think you did want to jump up several scores and then play the backups. But what do I know
