SIAP Herman Lathers is a monster (pic)

Shared this photo on FB. LSU fan commented and said he looks too big for LB and too slow. Wouldn't get a crack for a starting job for the top 4 teams in the SEC. Yeah, a LB that is almost 250 and runs a 4.48 is not SEC material yeah ok

Yeah 6th. Year is what I meant by putting medical in there but I think hardship may be the correct way of saying it. I hope he can get it tho his leadership is invaluible. Didn't zach rogers older bro. (Can't remember his name) get approved but decided to go to work instead?

I know Antonio Gaines was a 6th year

Man, Herman is huge. That's awesome.

Are those really pictures of him from only a year ago? That's scary...

Got to overlook LSU fans, lot of inbreeding down in Cajun country

He looks like he is ready for a great season but can someone inform me about how his health is this year? He deserves to have a great year and I think it's his year!

Is he related to biz markie?

Of course he's taking protein. They do have a nutritionist, right? I don't know about protein powder. They may be able to feed the boys enough food for it to be unnecessary.

As far as creatine.... that doesn't really do a whole lot. You speak of it like it's steroids.

You obviously haven't tried the right brand of creatine. Works as good as testosterone for about 6 months. Steroids causes your muscles to build bigger and faster than your other tissues like tendons or cartilage can support and I think, leads to injuries like many of those that we see in football. I'm not proud to say that I experienced all the above during my somewhat uneventful football career.

Creatine is great for recovery, endurance, and helps in preventing inflammation in joints, tendons, & ligaments. Also bonds w/ phosphate molecules to provide a person w/ the ability to utilize explosive bursts in training & in competitive sports. The key is getting a good creatine & using a transport system such as combining it w/ whey protein & sugar that you can get in milk. Great supplement if used properly.

...with all of that said his most important role will be leadership.....only coaches appreciate that remark...!

I don't want him to get tested but its hard to get those kinda gains naturally.

It's hard work but these athletes have the best in nutrition and training. It also helps to have great genetics that HL obviously has. He's a big dude but he doesn't look "unnatural"

outside the anabolic world, nothing works as good as test.

Not sure where you are getting this info, but there is no evidence to support these claims despite multiple published meta-analyses.

Creatine has only conclusively shown to increase high-intensity/short-duration muscle power. Any claims to "recovery" or "endurance" are marketing claims, but unfounded.

I'm basing it on personal experience and from understanding HS chemistry (see ADP and ATP molecules).

When the body uses all of the available ATP molecules, it is common for phosphate molecules to bond with creatine molecules to allow the body to continue to train, compete, etc. So in theory, additional creatine used with a proper transprt(whey protein) would allow a persons muscles to function longer in competition and training(i.e. endurance.)

As for recovery, One of the problems associated with inactive muscle is its depleted levels of Creatine. So again, in theory additional supplementation of creatine will aid in muscle tissue repair allowing a person to recover and be able to train and compete in a quicker turn around time.

The problem with most studies of creatine is that by in large they are inconclusive due to the supplement being mass marketed in the mid 90s. Granted there is some side effects for people who have pre existing conditions, but nothing conclusive for a normal healthy person.

I've been a weight lifter ever since college (20 years now). Certainly, I go through my ups and downs with it, but during my time I've tried just about every supplement out there. Creatine is the ONLY supplement I've ever used where I can actually tell a difference. It is a fantastic supplement. Unfortunately, I am one of those people for whom it causes kidney stones. The only two times I've ever developed kidney stones was the two times I used creatine the way you're really supposed to use it on a consistent basis. It can increase urine density, which can in turn cause the formation of stones. And yes, I drank a TON of water during the time I used it. Just my luck I suppose.
