Showing respect for players

There have been *many* times this has happened in Colts games (including ones where he has lost) and he always does the same thing: He encourages the crowd to shut up so they can hear his cadence. If you've watched him regularly in the last 5 years, you've seen this, so I have no idea why you'd contest this.

Now, I will shoot myself in the foot here and say that, as a small child, I have read that he used to pitch in and boo Archie's team if they were sucking. But I guess that's kind of the point - It's a juvenile action and I won't hold it against an 8 year old :)

He and every QB alive does this regardless if the fans are booing or cheering. More often than not, it's for cheering. moron!

Now you are just not making any sense at all. He does all of things to quiet them down from CHEERING.

We are talking about BOOING...and again, your example was an awful one.

Please, stop trying make your point. It's not working.
Good lord, this is not that hard: Yes, he does this when they are booing as well as cheering. That's the whole friggen point.

Your whole point about him asking them to be quiet was one of the dumbest things I've ever read on this board. It made absolutely no sense and has nothing to do with this conversation, other than the fact you brought in a quote from Manning and tried to draw a line to it.

Again, please stop trying to prove your point. You are failing miserably.

I couldn't care less if you accept the point. If all you have to say is "I don't accept that", who cares? Simply because you refuse to aknowledge him openly discouraging home crowd booing (both in games they're winning AND losing) doesn't make it invalid to anyone but yourself, but it's fun to pretend, I'm sure.

This is to say nothing of the fact that it is, generally speaking, impossible to prove a negative to begin with. The better request would be "Show me where Manning would advocate booing the home team."

Again, I completely expect the home crowd to boo simply because the general Joe Six Pack lacks the discipline necessary not to do so. But if you want to act as though nobody has this kind of discipline, then thats just being plain oblivious.

Boy, you really seem to care that everyone accepts your point that we shouldn't boo though.

I agree with the post, I was at the game on sat. I could't believe it when fans started booing. Just sickning, the players might not be playing good at the time, but they are trying there best. I would be ashamed of myself if I was one of the fans booing. Robert Ayers said it best, half of the fans booing have probably never played sports.

I think it's funny as hell that you're using the word discipline in talking about fan behavior.

Booing = We don't like the way you're playing/coaching

Booing doesn't mean "we hate your guts and hope you get hurt the next play" at least to most fans. College players should be a little thicker skinned.

Keep digging your hole. As much as I'm sure you think you make sense, you really just looking like you are digging for anything to back up what you say. If you don't care, why keep responding and trying to back it up? Just it go, man. You were awful in your presentation and backup, much like the football coaching staff.

Wait, this all makes sense now...

I played, and I booed, should I still be ashamed? As for non-former players, you don't have to be an expert in anything to tell when you're seeing crap.

I'm just mocking some of the retarded rationalizations for booing that I'm reading.

It's amazing how some people will call you out when you say stupid stuff. People boo b/c they're frustrated and don't really care one way or the other if it's good for the team or not. All SEC schools do it, and it's never going to change. But for some of you to act as though you're doing something noble or "passionate" by booing is a joke, though. At least be honest with yourselves.

I don't even think these folks would boo this man.

my apologies as I tell you that you're wasting your time with this Quixotic rant.

I haven't read on here where one person has said that it was "noble", just our right, which you cannot dictate no matter how hard you try.

JMO, isn't it.

I've already dismantled your ass. <3 Perhaps you should go boo someone to release your frustration?
:dance2:

Please keep your sexual fantasies to yourself.

As for this thread, however, you've done nothing but make yourself look like a blithering fool.

That argument is retarded. If we can't criticize because we don't have the talent, then we shouldn't be able to effectively praise without the talent. Therefore, being a fan is completely pointless.

Why are you a football fan???

Man, this guy really hates booing!

Yea. I also hate rednecks that think booing actually benefits the team.

I honestly don't know how some people tie their shoes in the morning.

I wear boots, not that I boo.

Maybe I should be more specific......

Its not really rednecks or hillbillies, it's the CLASSLESS Inbred rednecks or hillbillies that are booing. They are the "throw their garbage on the side of the hwy" type.

I thought it some fraternity thinking they were funny playing some sort of ill begotten prank.

He's too dumb to be a Bammer.

I didn't know you could be that dumb, what would one be if they were too dumb to be a bammer?

my apologies as I tell you that you're wasting your time with this Quixotic rant.

Are you talking to a mirror???

Air, nothing will rid them of their frustration. They boo the team on Saturday, complain about the sermon on Sunday, and Mon thru Fri they bitch about how the "man" is keeping them down.

You can take the boy out of the trailer park, but you can't take the trailer park out of the boy.
