This is as weak an argument as any that has been made on this board.

But, if you want, I can provide a list of successful coaches at the NFL and college level that no one knew a damn thing about when they were hired.

I was really happy, just what we needed at the time and he has done an outstanding job getting us back to a competitive football team and in changing the culture of our expectations...now weather he can turn the corner and make us a champion (literal) is the next step?

To tell the truth, when he was announced, I thought they meant Butch Davis. Turns out I was at the Cincinnati game. I had to be told who he was and until visiting Volnation, I never knew Dooly had beaten one of Butches teams.

Who knows who Cincinnati's HC is ? It's irrelevant.

This is Butch's 1st relevant job. I don't consider him a failure due to how he flipped our roster, that alone is enough that he doesn't ever have to work again.

I would like for him to see it thru to the NC. We are still on an upward trajectory, our W/L record doesn't show it, our defense took a step back(Butch pulled a Dooley but I like Shoop), but the Foruda win was a huge win and way fun to be there.

Kiffin, Dooley, and Butch. Frankly, they all felt like desperate choices. I'm not saying Butch isn't a good guy. It was just an underwhelming (to further use that phrase) choice.

We deserve a guy like Chip Kelly. That doesn't mean we'll get him. But you guys are crazy passionate about this program and deserve that level of coach.
