Shoop confirmed on campus

Apparently no planes have left from Knoxville to Pennsyalvania today according to multiple people on Twitter and 247. Maybe Shoop got a connecting flight home??

Had to take a commercial flight back to Pennsylvania on his own dime after turning down Tennessee's offer.

Shoop was spotted on the hwy about 90 miles from Happy Valley. He stopped at Wendy's for a baconator and a frosty. When asked why he was driving a dump truck, he responded 1.5 million dollars in salary and 800,000 in buyout cash takes up a lot of space. He also said it was dual purpose as after he drops off the 800 grand at PSU he can load up his belongings, and a few 4 star recruits before heading back to Knoxville.

I don't know how to paste a link with a phone but a tweet from football scoops reads...should know later today if Shoop and UT have agreement.

No doubt they blocked the tail number of the flight plan back to PA and that is why its not showing up on FlightAware. Just because the plane he flew down on does not have a flight plan showing up on FlightAware doesnt mean that plane is still at Knox airport.
And of course UT has other planes available.

As someone else pointed out, they could have blocked it coming down but since there was no way he was coming into town unnoticed and because it likely was going to be good news, they chose to let it "fly" unblocked.
The marketing genius of BJ tells me he knew exactly what he was doing here............and now.

Truth. They wised up. Like I mentioned before, the owner/operator of the plane can file the plane under a private tail number that only people can track if they enter it in. Which in this case, only a handful of people know it this time. However, if they blocked the same plane, you would be able to search old tail number and it would turn up blocked. Which it isn't. So that plane hasn't moved at all and is still in Knoxville

I understand this but what if a Franklin firing opened up the opportunity for him to get a shot at the head coaching job there?

Don't get me wrong, I hope we land the guy, but if the last 8 years have taught me anything with regards to this stuff, it's not to count on anything.

Maybe it's not JUST Franklin. PSU hierarchy may have ideas that don't mesh w/ Shoop.

If that same plane was blocked, you would only see the following on your screen. This is from another plane that A client of mine uses.

Well then they likely flew him back in a private jet. Little better ride than the twin turbo KingAir

I still contend they left it unblocked coming down on purpose

You'd be surprised. That 11 seater turbo prop is better than a light or super light jet in some cases. Hawkers and Citations can be very tight regardless of seats. Not saying that is what they are doing, but just based on my knowledge of the plane business

Oh I know the King Air is a great plane; plenty of room and still pretty fast for a twin turbo. Have flown in both King and Queen Airs back in the day. Actually got to ride in a Queen Air that used to be owned by LBJ. But the Jet would be faster and it wasnt like there were several travelling with him unless we were sending some body guards back!!

I thought I would share someone's opinion from SB Nation's Penn St. site on Shoop's possible departure ..

A move to Rocky Top is a step down. Lesser program, lesser job. Easier to recruit given how poor of a school Tennessee is.
Boinkaboy U considers us a step down?!?!? Butch please!!! Lol
