Shoop confirmed on campus

That's a Navy T-28 Trojan, made by North American. It was the aircraft the Navy used in advanced training at Pensacola in the 60's. :salute:

I think the Navy continued to use the T-28 as a trainer right up until the early 80s. Maybe not the T-28B variant.... Cool that you're the pilot in that photo! :good!:

Huh, they locked it down yesterday evening for a week...

eta: just checked, and it's the same boring version when I looked just now.

Ok, so the rule is, if they were not recruited by the school they play for, they may use the one time transfer exception rule and go where they like. If they were recruited (preferred walk on maybe?) They follow standard tranferring policies.

Walk ons get screwed there.

Walk-ons get recruited. Plenty skip a free ride and walk-on at a school they prefer with an expectation of earning a scholarship. Worked for Alex Ellis (eventually) didn't for Charlie High. THIS JUST IN: NCAA screws an athlete. :detective:

I get that. I just don't see how a university can keep a walk on from going wherever they want. I'm not disagreeing with you. I just don't see how that is remotely fair to the walk on.

It isn't.

What's the latest? Too many internet rumors floating around.

I heard Shoop was in a dance off with Butch over the salary. It came in as a tie so the team gathered round and a makeshift circle of life drill with Hart and Shoop in which Shoop gave Dave Hart an atomic wedgie. Hart relented and rode a tricycle out of Neyland with his underwear over his head. Butch and Shoop then went to a rodeo where Shoop wrestled a bull to the ground by its tail and Sparta kicked 15 rodeo clowns.

Apparently they went to Hooters afterwards where they discussed the defensive options for Spider 2 Y Banana with Jon Gruden over a plate of hot wings and cold beer.

Last I heard though so it might have changed.

Wow you sure made a lot of assumptions by reading that post. I don't see anything remotely certain about it.

LWS stated this in the JJs Gone thread...."As you know by now, we did get Shoop. It was not easy as his PSU buyout was an..."

Well, as in Mayfield's case, he went to a rival school and could have taken plays with him, etc. So, his school banned him from going to OK. He went anyway, so he lost a year of eligibility. It can be appealed, and he did, but it was upheld by the NCAA. I didn't like it, but I can understand it since the two schools play each other. If Franklin tried to do the same with Shoop's son, it wouldn't work. His son could appeal and should win.

I understand all of that. I'm of the opinion that if you're not paying for their education, you have no say. That's just me though. 😊
