If he waits until the championship game won't the game overshadow the announcement? I could see a press release coming this weekend instead of Monday. Jmo of course :)

I hope Bama is on Clemson's 5YL with 4 seconds left ... QB toss sweeps to Henry ... Then the broadcast instantly goes back to the Sports News Desk with a giant "Breaking News" banner. Then the report covers the new DC hire and they finish it up with that vid clip of Butch walking the long dark corridor, walks up to camera, and slaps that glasses on as the "Deal with It" meme pops up. ... then they jump back to the game as Clemson celebrates Henry stepping out of bounds at 2" from the goal line before crossing the goal line.

I would pay to see that!

It is closed. Shoop is our new DC. Butch will decide how to roll it out; if not today then monday for sure.
Presser will be sometime after the annoucement.

Great great hire.
Kudos to Hart for ponying up the money to seal the deal .

From Swanson from Hubbs in the recruiting forum, Shoop is expected to fly home today and make a final decision with his family.

FWIW UT is the third SEC team he has flirted with in the last couple years I believe and I saw an article saying there's an 800,000 buyout on his contract with PSU.

Larry and another respected insider in the RF said it's a done deal- hoping they are correct and what we have heard about an announcement on Monday is true. It is concerning the more time that passes, but he certainly stayed in Knoxville more time than for just a short interview.

UT has stated multiple times that money will not be a problem.

It's up to Bob. We'll pay what we have to pay to get the best. I believe that.
