Shoop confirmed on campus

Most profitable in the SEC, but Texas and Notre Dame still brought in more than we did. We had a profit of almost $70 million.

So, we never had kids, but I imagine this is what it's like for a bunch of guys (sorry ladies, talking to the guys) sitting around the waiting room, cigars ready to light, swapping nonsensical BS while waiting for what seems like forever for news of a delivery?

Or was that a 60s thing?

I went through this very recently so I can say that you are right in every regard except:

All of the guys you want to BS with are actually at a real game instead of in the AD's receptionists area where you find yourself completely alone with nothing but paperwork in front of you that clears the way for your defensive coordinator to arrive liability free and with all of his shots.

If you as much as have a picture of a cigar the UTPD will toss you out into Neyland Dr. for public shaming.

Jimmy Cheek shows up and tells you that even though CBJ is ready to get this DC here ANY TIME NOW you have to move the Haslam's plane or it will be towed.

Instead of legions of cheering fans lining the halls to welcome in your new arrival with Orange and White apparel you have...legions of in-laws and family lining the halls with Orang and White apparel. :)

But, in the end, when your defensive coordinator arrives, you are happy and proud. Which is a great feeling to hold on to...

Because the Head Coach isn't going to let you near the field for a long, long time.

The only, repeat only concern is he brings his choices for defensive coaching staff with him. Thigpin and Martinez are looking for jobs and we lose two proven recruiters. Not trying to dampen the fire but Gene keeps these guys where we don't know what shoop does. Not a big deal, just saying.

Forgive me if already posted. Not sifting through 38 pages of drivel to see if already posted. I don't do negative, just stating my opinion. I trust coach jones and his call is gospel to me with his choice. I'm not a blind follower, but he hasn't done anything yet to make me question his resolve to putting a championship team on the field. He already feels the pressure of the expectations for this up coming year and I trust he hits a home run.

God I hope UT ponies the money up to get this guy! Would be an awesome hire! Definitely an upgrade over Jancek. Hope he retains Stripling and Thigpen!

So without having to go through all of there posts, what's the latest news?

Sources confirm that Penn State defensive coordinator Bob Shoop is visiting with Butch Jones at Tennessee today. Shoop has an $800,000 buyout. If the two sides are able to work through that, there is a very good chance Bob Shoop will become the new defensive coordinator at Tennessee. Deal is not done at this time though.:hi:
