Shoop confirmed on campus

Wouldn't money have already been discussed before you fly the guy to CAMPUS for all to see and read about? I have never heard of anything like this before- this has to be at least agreed in principle and maybe some details to work out while he meets staff and maybe some players.

BS... We will win the east, and have a legit shot at a he SEC title which includes a spot in the final 4 CFP playoff...

Get the best, pay the best, be in contention next season...

Done deal. Mark it, 1.1+

I'm good with it. Would just be shocked based on our past history of paying coaches.

My story goes like this "'CBJ was hired right after we let CPF go..." Any other story is revisionist history

How I remember it:

Old Fulmer grew very weary one cold autumn day and lay down to rest on a stack of pachyderm skins and he rested his head on his pillows stuffed with plucked gamecock feathers.

His young apprentice, who was in one corner of the Vol domicile studying tape of Condredge Holloway saw that the old master was weary and quickly came to his side.

"Master," he said "I have seen the Dread Hamilton rampaging in the countryside. If you are too weary to rise, he will surely destroy all that you have built here and he will turn open our gates to Kiffin the Wicked and let Dooley the Isidious burn all the bridges leading into Volnation from the recruiting lands."

At this, Fulmer raised his weary head and spoke to his young apprentice. "Go, my young Butch, and recruit unto Volnation a QB that can fly airplanes and run the football in a modern spread-option offense. Protect my legacy and make our enemies tremble with fear again."

At this, Butch took an old pair of metal cleats from the corner and sharpened the metal until he could cut away his long black hair. Before long a pristine flat top crowned his head. He then flew quickly to Georgia as his master slept to receive the commitment of the young squire Dobbs. The Dread Hamilton retreated deep into the woods and was never seen again.

And all Volnation lived happily ever after . . .

Shouldn't some(and by some I mean most) of you ****ers be working right now?..I should have cancelled my classes today...too important to miss championship history in the making

Seems plausible.

Ok, since we have been down this road before....let hope that number 1 we would pay him properly and number 2 he isn't using us to get a bigger raise and extension at PSU.

siap buyout is 800k

Tennessee: Sources confirm to FootballScoop that Penn State defensive coordinator Bob Shoop is visiting with Butch Jones at Tennessee today. Shoop has an $800,000 buyout. If the two sides are able to work through that, sources tell FootballScoop there is a very good chance Bob Shoop will become the new defensive coordinator at Tennessee. Deal is not done at this time though.

Assuming it's a done deal, seems a little late in the day to call a press conference. Plus Friday afternoon is always bad news PR time.

So Monday? And I can stop refreshing and have a nice quiet weekend?

I am working right now. My job is the office manager for an event staffing company and we handle all of the OU sports. Being that this hire could impact the playoffs next year (to which OU has that potential again) and UT could face off against OU, to which I'd need to manage the practice schedule, the hire for UT is relevant to my job.

I NEED to follow this!

Probably won't be a presser. It will be announced and then the usual video clips with interviews with Big Bob K. on the official site of the Vols. :thud:
