Shoop confirmed on campus

These reports make absolutely no sense... UT knew there was an $800k buyout, why even bother interviewing Shoop if you aren't planning on paying it. They knew they would pay it to get their guy IMO... The only hurdle I can see after that is structure, length and amount of the contract. And they had to have an idea of the price range it would cost per year. And if true as some have suggested, Shoop reached out to CBJ weeks ago, so I'm sure he was a little more flexible in negotiations as well. This is all speculation and opinion on my part on what makes sense before you even think about flying someone in for an interview.

Shoop never comes to Knoxville if that issue still an issue. no interview happens..

I agree my friend.

The only thing you left out which could have been VERY important to both Shoop and to buTch is assistant coaches on the D.

Shoop may have stood strong on insisting that certain of his PSU coaches come along with him at a certain price.

AD Hart may have said no way in hell we're paying that much for D assistants.

buTch may have said Hell No to being forced to fire a certain D assistant coach or 2.

AD Hart and his bosses may have also had to say no to much higher D coaches pay because then we would have been forced to add lots more $$$$ to the pay of our O coaches too which would only be fair.

It's LOTS more to negotiate then only the buyout money and Shoops pay.

Any 1 thing could stop this from happening.

It may not happen or it may already be a done deal as Larry said and I trust everything that he posts on here, check his stats.

Either way we'll all know for certain soon.

Building a Champion #BrickbyBrick & Coach by Coach...VFL...GBO!!!

You are correct on that and I wasn't really looking at it from that angle, only from the perspective of the money to get Shoop and the Twitter warriors talking about buyout hurdles...But yes, I'm sure he has some guys he wants to bring and maybe those are the buyout hurdles they are talking about, but I doubt it. And I can definitely see Shoop, CBJ and Hart butting heads over that part of the deal

Somebody help me with this..why does it show two flights to State College today?

So according to that, he left Knox at 1:30 arrived in State College at around 3pm..the plane left flew to Lexington and then flew back to State College and is there now as of 6:46...they bringing him back with family?

I know about a plane they use not related to any large company, booster or the school. Don't ask, I don't know the tail number.
Larry is this not the greatest fan base in the world.Tracking air planes, inside info ect.I am so lucky to be a Tennessee Vol fan.The word passionate don't even start to describe Vol fans.

That's how I read it.

Exactly Larry, that's why I can't figure out all the reports saying the buyout is a hurdle. You can offer him $5million/yr, but if you are unwilling to pay the buyout, you aren't sending the plane in the 1st place and he isn't a plausible candidate

What is up with all the Kentucky activity though? Fuel? Wasn't the plane there around bowl time too?

The plane that brought BS down here (and flew several flights to Orlando and Tampa the end of Dec and first of Jan) is a King Air registered to Kentucky King Air LLC based in Hazard KY. owned by Stephen Barker.

Those times are not Eastern. They are UTC/GMT. The plane left about 08:34 AM from Knoxville.

Good! I'm not that up on military time, I was looking for a little confirmation. :)

If I wasn't afraid of it leaving by the time I got there, I'd go up with all my Tennessee stuff on and a big sign saying welcome to volnation coach.

This will be my first boomage. I don't want to do it pre-mature.

The first time is always a little early and you will leave the rest of us disappointed. Don't worry though you will get better at it with practice. I can recommend several loose threads if you feel like it will help.
