Sherrone Moore fired

Fair point. Knew I was missing one!
I had the same thoughts and also forgot about Sandusky.

two others that were worse, but not as crazy:
Ohio State had an overly familiar doctor situation. He wasn't associated with football so it was never as big of a story.

One of Michigan's coaches is also in trouble for hacking into medical information, including nude pictures, for student athletes at other schools. that got buried really dang fast.

if you make Kiffin's career into one single scandal it would certainly be its own standout.

Danny is riding high right now in Knoxville. I would hate to see him tempted but Michigan is a very high level school and I think his Dad worked at ND? He might like it up north.

Most likely a big difference in the degree of freedom he is given at UT vs what he would have at Michigan.

In Knoxville, kind of seems like he is given carte blanche over his realm. In Ann Arbor, they continuously trip themselves up about the "Michigan Way,". Of course lately that has just been sign stealing, cover ups, and a knocked up football secretary lol.

I think that's the main thing. Michigan is a cesspool and that IS the Michigan Way.

I don't really think Danny White wants that on his resume.

It's an affair with a staffer so most private companies will fire executives for this also.

What part of a potential sexual harassment lawsuit do you not understand?
Unfortunately, that scenario is severely one sided. Said employee can willfully chase the noodle of said superior for years on end. But, the very first time pretty girl sayd no, and boss says come on, one more, he's toast.

In this particular case, she ended up pregnant & he prob said the wrong thing and pissed her off. Or the affair would likely be continuing without threat.

Biggest issue is, once you go there as a boss, you are stuck in that affair cause if you rebuff them....just a stupid decision to engage reports or colleagues in the first place.

I hate to hear this. Lives ruined that had nothing to do with it. I can't imagine what his wife and kids are going through. It's bad enough when it happens to nobodies, but to have it all play out in the media is just brutal.

It seems like Michigan's administration was trying to hold it off through the early signing period to avoid a mass exodus of commitments, such as Savion Hiter, for example. I think they probably did slow roll it, at least a little bit.
Thin line here I know, but slow rolled or conducted proper HR/Admin investigation. I'd vote slow roll, but could be other. Filp side of this situation is effing up the investigation either too slow or too fast.

His dad was ND's AD, yes. Not only has he done very well at 3 different schools now but his background and family are very highly regarded and are something like a royal family in the industry.

Given that he recently was (and maybe still is) the highest paid AD in the nation I don't think money would be a prime motivator but I think he would leave for a big institution with more prestige. Michigan is one of like only 4 or 5 schools I could see him leaving for. Michigan, Texas, ND, Ohio State, maybe Southern Cal (but they'd probably have to get more serious about athletics).

For Warde, DEI.

The president up there is an interim and wasnt there during Warde's past 6-7 screwups...
He's also an alum and former football player, which helps. Harbaugh having several good seasons culminating in a title and the Dusty May hire really have helped distract from his F-ups, which have been plentiful.

If they beat Ohio State, they would have been 10-2 and would have been better in the SOS and SOR metrics than both Miami and ND. This would have eliminated the ND Miami issue for the CFP...

Moore committed about 4 fireable offenses at Michigan but he wasnt really punished until he committed the 5th one (losing to Ohio St)...
Yep. I’m guessing if he had beaten Ohio State, they would have announced a couple of family counseling sessions and the rest would have been shoved under the rug. Michigan hasn’t met a scandal they wouldn’t ignore for the sake of winning.

I'd love to champion corporate America and say they have these rules about fraternizing because they want to protect employees from predatory bosses, but I don't believe that for a second.

Corporate America knows the scenario you describe is as much a possibility as some "Weinstein like" monster. It DEFINITELY goes both ways.

The problem for them is legal exposure of were the rules known, properly explained, reinforced, and did all parties have a way to report violations. Did corporate know it was happening and ignore it or should they have known from it being reported by others? Michigan is probably screwed on that last part, IMO.

In the end, whether she was consensual, which I'll bet she was, or pressured, Sherrone Moore is an idiot for throwing away his career and possibly his family (though Petrino and Freeze are still married.)

It ALL comes back to him. He had the power to stop it if she started it.

I'm glad he didn't get himself killed in a suicide by cop situation when he lost it yesterday.

I work in the private sector. Have fired numerous people for nailing subordinates.
Yep, I have seen people get fired for inappropriate relationships as well.. especially if you are in a different workplace position tier/ paygrade or have ‘power’ over someone in any sort of capacity

Absolutely. When in doubt always keep the zipper up. It can go south in a hurry even in a two person owner/secretary company.

And you don't even have to be in the same department.

Harbaugh was an inherited hire and Manuel toed that fine line of pissing off Harbaugh and not holding him accountable....

Much like with Stricklin at Florida, the basketball hire has saved his rear...
