Paper called it a beaver tail (weatherman term according to them). Similar photo made the front page today.

Count, could you please give your opinion of the weather situation for this afternoon and evening for the Tri-Cities area in NETN? Thanks.

Heavy Rains, High Winds, small hail

Maybe an isolated tornado here and there, but wont be strong if it does.

The atmosphere wont support that kind of development

TORCON is only 4 for East Tennessee today. It wont be as widespread as in April 27th.

You guys may never see another event like that

Tornado warning (dopplar indicated) expired about 45 minutes ago in Tri-Cities/Greeneville area. No word of any tornado damage yet. There was some nice sized hail, too. More coming: training effect.

this video is from the local news station, they picked up the actual tornado right before it hit my area(harvest). note: this station lost its radar and camera. it took a direct hit. start watching at the 8 min. mark.

Got a bit squirrely here this morning around 11AM. Lost my internet until about 30 minutes ago. Had one of those bow echo things pass right over us. It lasted about 30 minutes and there's absolutely no visible damage anywhere near my house. The winds had to be over 50mph.
