I know someone on this site has already combined the 3 conferences, broken them down into 4 divisions and worked out a schedule for every team involved. No need to hide it, post it and let’s see how it stacks up!

Schools have to start signing players who value the education & all that comes with It. Those who Only want to be in the NFL in 3 yrs need to Work with NFLPA for their training, support, food & shelter, etc

Paying football players based on revenue generated by programs built by fans paying their hard-earned money to support the program is a non-starter primarily due to Title 9. Lawyers will be licking their chops to represent the players left out of the windfall. Net result will be a bunch of in-fighting as various sports fight for their ‘fair’ share. That will not end well.
I suspect the most likely outcome will be for the major football schools to spin off their programs into public benefit corporations that have the stated purpose of generating revenue for their respective institutions.
Transfer the associated debt and property to the corporation. Eliminate the headache of the school of dealing with the crises and dealing with having to provide so many teams to counterbalance the presence of football.
Allow the football corporation to make the best decisions for itself while generating profit/license fee/naming rights/whatever that would then be handed over to the university to use as they please.
SEC would need to decide if it wants to be a football league office or a conference office concerned with the remaining sports.

Me too. I also hope praying for 2021 isn't a misplaced effort. I'll be patient, but I want this disaster of a year to pass on by.

The SEC is trying to form a super conference with teams from the B12 and ACC. Dan Patrick reporting this...

"The SEC's attempt to save its season seemingly comes down to whether it can convince ACC or Big 12 member schools to form a one-season coalition. If that's the case, those schools will likely have to make concessions to guarantee the safety of the players, which may change the landscape of college football. "

Dan Patrick reports the Big Ten and Pac-12 plan to cancel their seasons, the SEC is working to save the CFB season

There is such a thing as pricing yourself right out of a career. Happens all the time. Just ask the folks that worked for International Harvester, Firestone, Truck lines in the 70's and 80's and tons more examples. This "pay for play" seems to fit squarely into that category but who knows...I could be mistaken. I know many here have strong opinions both ways but I can only imagine what the prices for tickets etc would look like in an attempt to recoop that lost revenue. And I'm sure everyone here understands...THAT REVENUE WOULD BE RECOOPED...one way or the other. JMO though.

I'm taking 6 weeks off to hunt. I have 3 states I'm hunting this fall, 4 if you count Tennessee. Illinois, Ohio, and ending it in North Dakota.

I can't wait.

Let's do a comparison..

My oldest goes to UT.. She is thankfully on academic scholarship.. Do you know what it doesn't pay for? Food.. Living.. Parking.. Medical.. Gym fees.. Books etc..

85 on a football scholarship.. Get tuition.. They eat like kings, they get a nice place to live, they get medical, clothes.. I honestly don't know of one thing they pay for, and if I'm not mistaken.. They get money to live on.. On top of educational support and a chance to go to play in the league.. Yes they are required to practice on top of earning a degree..

So maybe the college should cut them a check then turn around and charge them for the steak dinners, room and board, medical expenses, clothing, tuition and books, parking.. 🤷‍♂️

Pay the same tax rate as everyone else. You get paid you have to graduate. Paying players is stupid. They already get paid as stated above.

People can’t compare their kids who are regular students to the athletes. I hate to break it to people but Henry T is far more valuable to the University of Tennessee than an ordinary student. One helps generate multi millions of dollars and the other doesn’t. This isn’t the football players of the 90’s with bs degrees to play and learning disabilities. I could understand that arguing point if that were still the case. I think a lot of people have an issue with these kids being far more intelligent and educated and realizing how monopolized the business is and the amount of money that’s being made off their body of work and voicing legitimate issues.I don’t agree with every demand they have by no means but people are more afraid of the fact that college athletes are actually educated and it’s back fired because administrative bodies can’t piss on them and claim it’s rain anymore.

Let"s make it official. Make college football a semi pro league where players can get paid. Classes are optional. No age limits of set an age requirement to something like 24. Players can leave for another team, I mean school, anytime their contract allows. With no age limit I could imagine some players might make.more playing for a college team than playing in NFL. Can you imagine how much Manning could have made it be played here his entire career. Heck, it could mean the death of the NFL. I realize this won't happen but I think it would be an interesting concept.

I was responding to the idea of critical thinking.

The players that won’t stand for the current system might shout sit down and figure out the better way.

Pay for likeness is the answer.
