Seven More Days Before George MacIntyre

This year seems like it was about getting Joey A 200 yards per game.

In the meantime our backup qb’s never got any quality time on the field with the starting offense. What a waste of time. We had plenty of cupcake games to let those guys play for most part during those second halves. Even the Florida game comes in mind.

To be honest no one knows how good that. G Mac is or not, while placed under fire.

To the transfer ab thread:
Don’t really care about body stature. He is on par with Peyton’s during his freshman year as well.

It is time to have a good send off for JA, but it’s also time for a new beginning with clear for site.

Sure hope that coach Heupel has that for-site too, within giving G Mac plenty time with the staters during the bowl game.

It is also time to show if Heupel with Joey Halzle can really develop their our young. guns too.

lol, Time to see if GM is a baller on the last game of the 2025 season. We will be pushing that factor during the bowl game thread.
DFH doing ok?

Really? We HAD to use JA in all the "cupcake" games because he wasn't ready and needed game reps. Is it better to have 3 QBs that are not ready or one that is? It may be the same way next year since we are in the exact same situation.

First I heard of this, strange a player does not want to play for 2 years. And if he really good we have him for one year actually playing time.
I guess Matthews could be wrong - listen to this past Sunday’s podcast.

Apparently he is struggling to gown weight. Plus, he would have three yrs to play since he redshirted freshman yr.

I don’t care who the QB is. My wonderful wife just surprised the kids and I with MCB tickets and we are gonna be cheering on the Big Orange regardless of who takes the snaps. Headed on to Nashville Sunday afternoon, so somebody needs to fill me in on how to access fan activities
GBO!!! Whoopem’!!!!’

I dont understand why half of our fan base are dying for him to be the guy when they've never even seen him play.
Joey Matthews, BJ Coleman, Harrison Bailey…

Big Orange fans love the next man up, especially if they are instate. I still remember the conspiracy theories floating around when CJ Boleman left the program.

Because they’ve never seen him play. He still holds the possibility of being an unrealized talent that somehow the coaches have not seen the full ability of. That’s why the backup quarterback is always popular, because some fans don’t like what they see, so they assume that what they don’t see has to be better. It rarely, if ever, it is.

Paul Thompson
Sam Bradford
Landy Jones
Drew Lock
Dillion Gabriel
Hendon Hooker

Pretty impressive list. I'll take his actual success over your perceived "ability."
I would add Nico to that list, the progress he made from year one to year two was significant. I realize he wasn’t the key cog on offense last year, but he was the quarterback for a team good enough to make the college football playoff, that’s not something that very many redshirt freshman in the country would be able to do.

Coaches felt he had made massive progression in the off-season and this spring. There’s no certainty on how that would’ve played out this season, but I think he would’ve had a significantly better season here than he ended up having learning a new system in a short period of time with significantly less talent around him at UCLA. And he would’ve had a better season than he did in 2024, and that was good enough to take his team to the playoff.

Guess you’re not aware that he and his parents agreed for George to sit two yrs to build his body. Doug Matthews is a good friend of the family and commented on last Sunday’s show - big orange Sunday.

Well a blee ba da blee ba da....that's all folks!

Just kidding. I like DM. He just strings a topic along like it's coming up next but almost never get to all of them.

That's the football world we live in.
It is. I listened to Ty Simpson’s interview on Closed on Sundays. He sat for 3 years behind Bryce Young and Jalen Milroe…now NIL is a factor but he was able to work in the background and go against NFL players every day in practice.

Idk what’s gonna happen with the portal situation at QB. But not playing doesn’t mean you can’t “develop”. It just means you have to be READY when your opportunity arrives. Whether it’s GMac or Faizon. What will they do when the moment arrives?

Not sure i believe that. Can't hardly believe a parent would send there young man to college to play a sport he has probably played since he was 6 or 8 years old and then beg the coach to shatter there confidence and make sure he rides the pine for two years whether or not he is best for that position. If he is the best we have weight or a promise to mommy and daddy will not prevent him from starting. If that should have been blue font sorry for rant

If he doesn’t play till 2027 he will be a junior and can enter the nfl draft if he is good, and we have 1 yr of playing time
